I finished my previous gameplay showing the last modification I applied to my robot and on my way to the final mission to avenge the death of its friends. We have located the place where the Mechanist is hiding, and are on our way to defeat this enemy.
With its new legs and head, my robot is now taller than me and more powerful than ever before. It can now withstand much more damage and its weapons are more powerful. The main reason why I improved my robot was that I knew this mission was going to be hard and I needed my robot to be as strong as possible.
The Mechanist and its robot army are inside that building.
Robco was a company dedicated to the development of robotics. Since the Mechanist is an expert in this field it is understandable he chooses this location as a base of operations.
In order to access his hideouts, there are several special doors that can only be opened by a robot using a very specific scanner.
The place is extremely well protected but I came here ready to shot and bomb any enemy I can find. I also improved my level in Robotic which allows me to hack robot enemies.
The first enemies I found were no big deal. 1 grenade and a few shots later they were destroyed.
Take a look at that robot beast, it is good to know it is on my side as a faithful and useful companion.
For the first time, I started to use my robotics skill as an attack method. If I go near an enemy robot, I can quickly connect a cable and hack them. I have 2 choices, to turn them off or to initiate a self-destruction sequence which results in the robot overheating itself, exploding, and ending as a little lava puddle. That shining thing in the middle of the screen is an enemy robot about to explode.
The explosions are bigger than I was expecting, similar to a grenade. This is a great way to defeat enemy robots because you don't waste resources. The only problem is that connecting the cable to the robot doesn't happen very fast.
In the past, this place besides designing robots they also manufactured them. This was a long time ago as can be seen in this picture.
In the following picture, you can see 3 robots. From left to right: the first one is my own robot companion, and the other 2 are enemy robots that I shut off ^^.
I activated the self-destruction sequence in one of them to see if the explosion could destroy the other one but it didn't. So after this explosion, I did the same with the other one. The explosions don't seem to hurt my robot either which is very good.
Here is another look at what was a well-known robot factory.
You can see my robot below here, the greenish circle is its robobrain head.
I found another door closed for me so I needed to order my robot to scan it and open it.
I found this dead bodies or ghouls in what appeared to be a sort of jail. A robobrain head was connected to this medical beds. Perhaps this was how they developed the robobrain in the first place, by experimenting with prisoners or sick people about to die.
I couldn't interact with this bed in any way so I left it at that.
Inside the prison, there were a lot of ghouls and I let them out by accident. These things attacked me all at the same time! It was crazy because there were a lot of them and they were also a bit stronger than usual.
One of them had this excellent rifle! Check the damage it causes, this is an excellent weapon and I had 759 bullets compatible with it. This is good stuff.
I got a bit lost because I didn't know where to go from here.
I found the door I was looking for and continue with my mission. Notice the name of this room, "brain extraction". This is like something out of a scientific Saw movie.
Any evil scientist would be happy with a place like this. A bunch of human brains probably taken by force inside capsules. Although I shouldn't criticize this much because I myself put a robobrain head in my own robot.
This place looks abandoned but I would love it if there was more information about their experiments. Also, what is that in the right part of the screen you might be wondering.
Well, I believe it is a Deathclaw head. Maybe they were also trying to use a Deathclaw brain for a new type of robot head?
Even outside that room, I was able to find more brains in capsules.
I finally found new enemies and a powerful turret to destroy.
This screenshot is shaky but it was the only one I was able to take while doing this fight.
Below you can see even more brain in their corresponding capsules, as well as my robot standing guard and an enemy robot about to explode after I hacked it.
I am sharing this picture to show that even though my robot is now capable of resisting much more damage, it can still get hurt. Its left arm is missing after the fight. Luckily, the robot can repairs itself up once the fighting is finished.
It is really cool to defeat your robot enemies just by hacking them. Here is another one about to burst!
Another look at the 2 hacked robots that will soon become lava.
I was hoping to somehow interact with this thing but it isn't possible.
These are some robobrain basic bodies. This appears to be an assembly line but it is now inoperative.
And this is the main villain. The Mechanist. This is the character in charge of all the robots that have been doing attacks and committing murders all over the wasteland. Somehow, this person thinks I am the evil one.
This character began by sending me a few robots to kill me, but in the beginning, this was no big deal for me and my own robot companion.
This is where all the final fights took place. You can see the little lava puddles from all the robots I hacked. the fight got more and more difficult because the villain kept sending me more and more robots.
After defeating all of the robots the villain approaches me to have a talk.
This is the moment when I discover the Machinist is actually a female! When using the helmet her voice sounded like a male voice. In these dialogues, I explain to her that her robots were misbehaving and were killing innocent people. Apparently, she was unaware of this, she thought the robots were providing protection, that's why she thought I was evil.
In the end, I decided to spare her life. Since this is a rpg I had the choice to either kill her or let her live, I let her live and she gave me her unique armor as a reward. Although I decided to kill her I could have taken the armor by force so the reward is the same either way.
She had this little robobrains working in some interesting looking computers, but since she made horrible mistakes I am the one in control of this place now.
You can see the robobrains returning to work and everything looks good. While in the final fight, the entire place shuts down because she wasted all of the energy in the fighting robots. Now the place is back on and with new leadership.
This was a cool mission and I really enjoyed it. My own robot understood that sparing this character was the best choice and that these mistakes will never happen again. I still have a few robot-related missions that consist of hunting down a few rogue robots in the wasteland. However, the mission I will be doing next is in Maxwell World, a horror amusement park that belongs in the supernatural realm and the only way to get there is through several special places, a unique highway that is like a wormhole, a train outside space and time, or a special bus under the control of a ghost.
Maxwell World is a very important mod and I am excited to play it in my next exploration!
Cheers and thanks for reading!
