It's the 80's and we are in a "future" where ducks kill each other with weapons of all kinds while being broadcasted on TV, all this for the enjoyment of the audience in the stadium, but... HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?.
In this post I'm going to talk about a video game that instantly grabbed me because of its silly but fun gameplay, plus its theme, hats and multiplayer. That's right, I'm talking about Duck Game. Without further ado, let's start with the post!
What is Duck Game?
Duck game is a video game created by Landon Podbielski and Adult Swim in which you are paired up with other ducks in order to kill each other in a dystopian future.
In this video game there is no story as such, but there is a campaign where you are trained to be the best in this game thanks to the arcades, which have mini games that teach you to move within the game in the most efficient way possible.
There is a wide variety of weapons, among these weapons there are from the common ones like real life guns, to weapons like mind controllers and bibles.
The games are very fast and are characterized by being quite crazy and without any sense.
Gameplay
The gameplay is simple, it consists of two buttons which are used to grab the weapon and shoot, between these buttons there are also to quack and play dead.
Each weapon plays differently (especially the fictional ones) because each one has its own mechanic. For example, the sword can be used in a traditional way or you can throw it to deal damage. Of course, they all hit you in one fell swoop.
The duck works quite well on the map and if you know how to use the buttons well you can be the fastest killer in the game, thus earning a lot of points.
Soundtrack
The soundtrack is quite good and very well set, it consists of synthetic sounds reminiscent of the Sega Genesis, as well as having a cyberpunk touch.
From time to time it changes, it can become repetitive if you play a lot but you get used to it. My favorite OST is the arcade one.
HATS, MASKS AND DECORATIONS!
One of the most characteristic things about this game is its cosmetics and its great customization for the rooms, and in this game there is an EXP system where they give you hats, masks and objects for your room. Which is a mini-lobby for your character that everyone can see.
In addition, every so often someone comes who offers you new objects. This is limited so you have to decide whether or not to accept them wisely.
This game can become very customizable, thanks to the great Workshop
The Workshop
The workshop is a place where you can get mods offered by the community for free, these mods are the ones that enhance this game and the great differentiator, since it has many new things that make you play this game again.
Among these mods are new weapons, new maps, new skins and hats. All this with the purpose of making the game more fun, adding many things for the player to enjoy.
And it is that something that I have not mentioned is that the normal maps can become repetitive for the casual player (since for the competitive one it is the bomb), so if you want to play with your friends it is recommended to play the maps of the workshop or those who bring the mods.
Disadvantages and Advantages of the Game
Advantages:
Very light game: This game is very light and can run on any computer, it's best in multiplayer if you don't have many options.
Fast, Frantic and Fun Games: The games are very fast, and they can be very fun thanks to the great randomness of these. A plus would be the physics of this game, which greatly influence when playing.
Very good multiplayer to play with your friends: This game is an excellent option to play with your friends, if what you want is to have a laugh and not take the game so seriously, it is a little gem if your friends refers.
Cons:
There are few people online: If you want to play online I have bad news for you, and that is that the game does not have as many people online, and although you can find people playing, it is very difficult. If you want to play online I recommend you better look for rooms in “Browse Games” there you will find at least one.
Conclusion
Duck game is a great game to play with your friends and family, it doesn't require much and it isn't meant to be played for hours either, because it gets tiring after playing it for a certain time (about 4 hours or so) I recommend you play it if you just want to have a super fun time with random stuff.

Es la década de los 80 y estamos en un “futuro” en donde los patos se matan entre sí con armas de todo tipo mientras son transmitidos por televisión, todo esto para el disfrute del público en el estadio, pero… ¿CÓMO ES ESTO POSIBLE?
En este post hablaré sobre un videojuego que me atrapó al instante debido a su tonta pero divertida jugabilidad, además de su temática, sombreros y multijugador. Así es, hablo de Duck Game. Sin más que decir, ¡empecemos con el post!
¿Qué Es Duck Game?
Duck game es un videojuego creado por Landon Podbielski y Adult Swim en el cual te emparejan con otros patos para poder matarse entre sí en un futuro distópico.
En este videojuego no existe una historia como tal, pero hay una campaña en donde se te entrena para poder ser el mejor en este juego gracias a los árcades, los cuales tienen mini juegos que te enseñan a moverte dentro del juego de la manera más eficaz posible.
Hay una gran variedad de armas, entre estas armas hay desde las comunes como las pistolas de la vida real, hasta armas como controladores de mente y biblias.
Las partidas son muy rápidas y se caracterizan por ser bastante alocadas y sin sentido alguno.
Jugabilidad
La jugabilidad es simple, consiste en dos botones los cuales sirven para poder agarrar el arma y disparar, entre estos botones también hay para hacer cuack y hacerte el muerto.
Cada arma se juega diferente (en especial las ficticias) porque tiene cada una su propia mecánica. Por ejemplo, la espada puede ser usada de manera tradicional o puedes lanzarla para que cause daño. Eso sí, todas te dan de un solo golpe.
El pato se desenvuelve bastante bien en el mapa y si sabes usar bien los botones puedes ser el asesino más rápido de la partida, así ganando bastantes puntos.
Banda Sonora
La banda sonora es bastante buena y está muy bien ambientada, consiste en sonidos sintéticos que recuerdan a la Sega Genesis, además de que tiene un toque cyberpunk.
Cada cierto tiempo cambia, puede llegar a ser repetitiva si juegas mucho pero te acostumbras. Mi OST favorito es el del arcade.
¡SOMBREROS, MASCARAS Y DECORACIONES!
Una de las cosas más características de este juego son sus cosméticos y su gran personalización para las habitaciones, y es que en este juego existe un sistema de EXP en donde te dan sombreros, máscaras y objetos para tu habitación. El cual es un mini-lobby para tu personaje que pueden ver todos.
Además, cada cierto tiempo llega alguien que te ofrece nuevos objetos. Esto es limitado, así que tienes que decidir si aceptarlos o no sabiamente.
Este juego puede llegar a ser muy personalizable, gracias a la gran Workshop
La Workshop
La workshop es un sitio en donde puedes conseguir mods ofrecidos por la comunidad gratuitamente, estos mods son los que potencian a este juego y el gran diferenciador, ya que tiene muchas cosas nuevas que hacen que vuelvas a jugar este juego.
Entre estos mods están armas nuevas, mapas nuevos, skins y sombreros nuevos. Todo esto con el propósito de hacer más divertido el juego, añadiendo muchas cosas para el disfrute del jugador.
Y es que algo que no he mencionado es que los mapas normales pueden volverse repetitivos para el jugador casual (ya que para el competitivo es la bomba), por lo que si quieres jugar con tus amigos se te recomienda jugar los mapas de la workshop o los que traen los mods.
Desventajas y Ventajas del Juego
Ventajas:
Juego muy liviano: Este juego es demasiado liviano y puede correr en cualquier computadora, es lo mejor en multijugador si no tienes muchas opciones.
Partidas Rápidas, Frenéticas y Divertidas: Las partidas son muy rápidas, además de que pueden llegar a ser muy divertidas gracias a la gran aleatoriedad de estas. Un plus serían las físicas de este juego, las cuales influyen mucho a la hora de jugar.
Muy buen multiplayer para jugar con tus amigos: Este juego es una excelente opción para jugar con tus amigos, si lo que quieren es echarse unas risas y no tomarse el juego tan en serio, pues es una joyita si a amistades se refiere.
Desventajas:
En el online hay poca gente: Si quieres jugar online te tengo una mala noticia, y es que el juego no tiene tanta gente en el online, y si bien puedes encontrar personas jugando, pues es muy difícil. Si quieres jugar online te recomiendo mejor buscar salas en “Browse Games” ahí mínimo encontrarás una.
Conclusión
Duck game es un gran juego para jugar con tus amigos y familiares, no exige mucho y tampoco es para jugarlo durante horas, pues llega a cansar luego de cierto tiempo jugándolo (como unas 4 horas más o menos) Te recomiendo jugarlo si solo quieres pasar un buen rato superdivertido con cosas random.
