As for the gameplay I can mention that this game is good, the missions have a good level of difficulty that for the time was important, in which I realized and if I remember correctly, the difficulty was increasing gradually as we were advancing in the adventure, however the game does not become very difficult so the player should concentrate on having fun because the gameplay is easy to understand. I got to play it in the CD-ROM version, so I remember that we moved our character by using the mouse, plus we had a menu of options with several actions that we could do in which highlights the dialogues with the other characters. In without this game still deserves to be played today because the experience in the jugabildiad is quite entertaining and fun, more for the smallest of each who do not know of these retro games, however most like is the modern games of today and it is also my case, but that does not mean that I lose sight of these great video games that were part of my life.

The best thing about this game is not only the adventure that we live but it has a touch of humor where we can have fun in the best possible way, with dialogues that can give us a lot of laughter and therefore we can have a lot of fun. The player must move the character through the world of Mêlée Island™, where he can do the action he wants and have dialogues with the characters he prefers. In general I like the gameplay because the game is not only about the adventure lived by our character and the story, but it has a touch of humor that gives the player a very nice fun, with the caveat that the game at times was frozen for a certain time which was something quite tedious but we must understand that at that time the games had some errors, but this does not mean that it lowers the score as far as the gameplay is concerned.

Graphically the game seems to me to be good because things can be distinguished very well despite the style of the graphics of that time. If you compare this game with some others of the time, this is really good, although they are old, they would open the cartoon style steps of MI 2 and MI 3, and it is remarkable that they are so good, because if we compare them with other games of 1990 this were not so good and the objects were not easy to identify which made it difficult for the player to advance in the game. The interface of the game is nice even today which highlights the good work that was done in this game. As I mentioned before, something that I can complain about is the fluidity of the game, in many cases the game would get stuck, something that I found very annoying, but with the gameplay and due to the touch of humor this could be passed a little. Anyway this game at that time was a boom due to the great improvements in terms of graphics and the comparison with other games of the time.

As for the sound I can tell you that these are good but nothing outstanding. The sound effects are simple but quite correct for the style of the game, with some variety and realism something that used to be missing in many cases in the 90s. However despite some things being good others are not, where in some cases we can notice the absence of sounds, either at least the environmental ones but you have to understand the time that is the game and can not be demanded as much as the current ones. In general the sound quality is high and even more so in the CD-ROM version that what works well, could be heard with a very good quality. Generally in the retro games some aspects are of lime and others of sand, being this the case with The Secret of Monkey Island, but in general lines and knowing when is the game, it is remained quite pleased.
In conclusion, The Secret of Monkey Island is one of the best games of the time, in terms of graphics gameplay and sound, which not only gives us great entertainment, but we have fun with touches of humor in the dialogues. The graphics are outstanding at least for the time when the game was released, the sound has some shortcomings but in general it is also quite correct. This game set a trend at the time among adventure games. Although the story is quite simple, I liked it more than this game, because I liked the impeccable work in every way, however always the errors and some details were present in the 90's games that were quite understandable. For all that said is that I give a 9.4 to the gameplay, a 9.6 to the graphics and a 9 to the sound.

For all the above, I give a 9.33 out of 10 to The Secret of Monkey Island. It is always important to remember that my reviews and ratings are from the point of view of a normal user or gamer and not a professional videogame critic.
