Live Summit - Ace Race + 2 Stories ✅ [Let's Play Games #79]

in Hive Gaming2 years ago (edited)

Hey, hey! Sup everyone?
Any air racers fans on the blockchain? Because The Crew 2 finally created an event for you! ✈️

Along with the many surprises and various Live Summits released weekly, I've never got the chance to take part into an event that is mostly dominated by races in the air, so yes, this time is all about air power. And in order to reach the height of success and put your hands on some of the most desired prizes, you will have to soar across the skies and play with gravity. 😃

Anyway, as a little tip before we check better what's everything about, do make sure you complete this event with a controller because while you can handle the races with cars and motorbikes from the keyboard, there is no doubt the best way you can fly a plane virtually is with a controller. 🎮

However, the moment of checking one by one the races the Ace Race Live Summit came with, is now, so let's take a closer look to everything that can be completed between 13th - 20th April:

  1. Low Altitude - where you have to keep the plane as close as possible to the ground and collect at least 3,560 points to qualify further. [No Restriction Race]
  2. Slalom - one of those races where you are required to make a dance between various objects placed on the water by driving a boat and gathering 5,540 points. [No Restriction Race]
  3. Aerobatics - where you are needed to match some figures shown in the air and collect no less than 3,240 points. [No Restriction Race]
  4. Rally Raid - an off-road race that will mix driving on the ground, sand and road where you have to beat 03:59.388 minutes score. [No Restriction Race]
  5. Air Race - another race on-air where the time is your main enemy being required to get a better score than 03:13.279 minutes [No Restriction Race]
  6. Rally Cross - back to the off-road trails with a race against seven more players where you need to place yourself on one of the Top 3 places. [Escalade Enforcer Unit required]
  7. Motocross - a first motocross race in a while but which will be held on one of the trails used in a previous season where you need to collect at least 19,000 points to move further. [No Restriction Race]
  8. Aerobatics - one more race with a plane but where you need to make some more difficult acrobatics in order to get at least 2,500 points. [Model 17 Staggerwing required]
  9. Air Race - last but not least, another race flying a plane but where your competitors are driving either motorbikes or cars on the ground. You'll need again to cross the finish line on one of the first 3 positions. [Waco Ymf-5D Super required]

Huh, so many interesting races that I don't even know where to start!

I think the most fun way is, to begin with the Motocross race which even though its name already says what's everything about, it's going to be a little bit more different than what you'd expect to see.

Personally, when I think about Motocross races, I get lots of muddy and bumpy trails in my head, aren't you? Happily, this time it won't be about that, because the race you will have to complete is part of a previous season where the main attraction was either hitting various objects placed on the ground or do acrobatics while being on air to gain points. And that's exactly what this race is about.

Unfortunately, I didn't manage to hit that 100,000 points goal but that's because the race is quite subjective not having an advantage for the solo players like me because if you complete the race in a team then there is no doubt that each member of the team can follow a different trail and gather a lot more points at the end of the journey. Though, I'm still happy I managed to complete this one by myself :)

The off-road races are perhaps the easiest ones if you know how to handle a car while driving it on a bumpy road, the single one a little bit more challenging being the 6th race where you will be forced to drive the Escalade Enforcer Unit on the trail.

I'm calling it a little bit more challenging than the others because the required vehicle is quite heavy and that will make you slide while taking curves sometimes, but it's a car that you can get used with pretty fast, so don't be scared of the race too much. :D

A similar situation will also happen in the Slalom race where you can pick whatever boat you want but considering that you will need to get between various objects placed on the water, I find it easier to use a bigger and heavier boat that you have better handling over, instead of a small boat.

And last but not least, we have all these 5 races where each of them involves piloting a plane either during a normal competition or by matching various figures shown in the sky.

I'll start with the 8th race where I had to use the plane from the attached picture that cost around 350,000 bucks and which even though I was very excited about, it turned out as a pretty big challenge to control it while being required to get under bridges, keep it on low altitude, doing loops, rolls, and other acrobatics.

There's nothing wrong with the acrobatics requested but I'm used to flying a small or light plane on this type of race to have better control over everything, hence why the shamy score I got which I barely obtained after 3 restarts, lol.

Happily, the other four races involving a plane are a lot easier and faster to complete, the most fun being the last one where you will fly a plane while the rest of the players will have a little fight on the ground, haha.

🔓 Do you enjoy air races?
How fast did you learn to control a plane? Because I literally destroyed lots of planes before learning how not to explode them on landing, lol.
🤣

Anyway, time to move to the 2nd part of this post which is focused on two more stories completed along with the American Legends season which never stops impressing me with all the picks in terms of steps you have to go through on a single story, as well as the rewards at the end of the journey.

The first such story completed this week is called Salem's Legacy and it comes with the following 8 steps:

  1. Family Apartment
  2. Old Bridge
  3. Church in the Woods
  4. Guesthouse in Stockbridge
  5. Gas Station
  6. Iron Bridge
  7. Lighthouse in Caso Bay
  8. The Cursed Place

Just like perhaps you already got used to if you've been following my other The Crew 2 themed posts or if you also play this game, these stories are mainly focused on places less explored by players such as hidden spots in the woods, abandoned gas stations that you will never think about stopping by, and so on. But I do love how they managed to make the players explore more of what the game has to offer other than the races we are all used with.

Reward: Witch Potion Smoke Vanity Item

The 2nd story completed is called The Lucky Guy 4 and it's basically a continuation of the other episodes released weekly from the same story that is being split into more phases but with fewer steps to get through if we compare these with the other stories released.

However, this time The Lucky Guy 4 comes with 3 steps only as it follows:

  1. Key West
  2. Shop in Coral Gables
  3. Boat Race in Key West

You will notice that this basically starts and ends in the same area which, if I'm not wrong, is how it happens in all The Lucky Guy episodes, but which is always a fun and quick way of exploring the USA in the vision of The Crew 2 game and also earn some extra bucks.

Reward: 67,500 bucks

That's all for today, gearheads!
Thanks for taking time to read and stop by!

This was quite comprehensive. Thumbs up for the info.

Thank you so much! I'm happy it helped you :)

I have played many airplane games in the past, but never a racing one. The weekly challenges look really good, it should be quite fun, and I agree with you, the game experience will be better if you use a controller to fly.

Really? I've never gone fully for the airplane games but this might be a good idea actually. The Microsoft Flight Simulator would definitely be my go-to for this kind of games. Did you try that one? 😃

Yeah, in fact, the last one I played was Ace combat 7 back in 2019, and yeah I've played Flight Simulator, it's somewhat more relaxing, and very realistic.

Sweet! :)
