This Flameblast Witch I've been working on is fantastic.
Usually when I'm sitting here, trying to make my own build, I will glance over at other people's to see what they're doing with their gems and read discussions on the PoE Reddit talking about different abilities and what they do and why they recommend certain support gems for the skills, etc.
Annndddddd.... apparently no one really uses Flameblast.
I found a couple of olldddd builds, and other than that, no one really mentions it on the Reddit or anything. So I guess it's not popular.
I guess the reasoning is because it's channel-and-release over and over and over and you can't really proc anything off of it. And maybe because it doesn't look as flashy as others. And you have to stand still briefly to use it instead of running around and staying out of bad. But it's so powerful!! I think it's great anyway.
I'm doing things on this character I haven't done on any of my other characters! I didn't even know these Vaal city things existed until reading @enjar's posts, and then I was lucky enough to find my own at a very low depth.
I attempted it with my melee Scion and kept failing even reaching the outposts. Then here I come on my Flaming Witch and devastate their forces and pillage their loots. Muahaha!
Heists are even pretty good.
I easily completed a few Heists, then ran to my Hideout to have a closer look at this ring and throw a crafting enchantment on it. It has a fantastic implicit modifier on it! If I didn't already have a thing that makes Flammability as an Aura completely free, I'd totally use it myself.
So, I looked at poe.trade to see similar rings, and was gobsmacked to see similar selling for 100 chaos to 1 exalted!
I don't have any premium tabs with which to sell things, so waited for my partner to finish work and got him to sell it for me. Unfortunately the numbers on mine are fairly low compared to others, even after re-rolling the numbers, but I chucked it up for 50 chaos anyway. Not sure if it's actually worth that, but we'll see if it sells!
As my post title suggests, I've also been flying through the Atlas Maps! I've gotten three watchstones unlocked so far and am going strong.
I'm only up to Tier 5 maps, but am playing that game where you try to find maps but only get ones of lower tiers and I don't have enough tier-upgrading orbs to use on them. I'll get there though.
So, I'd like to talk about my Flameblast Build so far!
I'm getting to the stage now where I finally have enough sockets for things and have enough of those colourful orbs to play with socket-colours at will.
I bought a cheap 6-link chest off of poe.trade to replace my statless Tabula Rasa:
That chest piece has:
Flameblast > Faster Casting Support > Combustion Support > Arcane Surge Support > Energy Leech Support > Elemental Proliferation Support
And I think I'm happy with it, for the most part. Though I'm not too sure about the Energy Leech Support. I'm not entirely sure if it's worth it or not and might through something else in there to see if I notice any change at all.
I bought this amazing wand off of poe.trade as well! Cast speed! Mana regen! Spell and Fire damage! Arcane Surge procs which also give mana regen!
I don't think I'll be replacing this any time soon, haha!!

And I found this ring last night whilst running through a Sacred Grove on one of the maps. I don't really need the cold resistance, but, MORE MANA REGEN! And I can't be frozen. That's fantastic.
Pretty much the only times this character has died so far, have been because I got frozen in place and couldn't dash away to safety. So this ring was a saviour and I'm never going to unequip it!
All in all, things are going really great for my Witch!
I mean, we'll see how she goes when she gets to the higher tier maps, but at the moment I have every confidence in her.
I'm pairing my Flameblast with - Herald of Fire. Cremation. Raging Spirits. Stone Golem. Discipline. Herald of Ash. Flammability with Blasphemy Support and an item that makes it so I don't use any Mana Reservation for it! 😄

Heists are quite fun. I hope you been buying all the contracts from the vendor every time it resets when you level up. A great way to get heaps of them for next to nothing.
GL on getting the maps you need. I still have some I’m missing. One of the ones I’m missing I think is bugged. I can’t even 3 to 1 for it as every other map expect it is an option I’m able to get with when changing out different maps.
Some Delve areas are harder than others depending on the modifiers you get for that area. At the depths I’m at I’ll have an area that just about murder me while others are a walk in the park.
I completely forgot about buying the contracts! I've been remembering to buy all the maps though. I don't have anywhere near enough though, haha, most of my tier tabs are half empty, but I'm slowly finding them thanks to re-rolling them to be a higher tier or another map of the same tier.
I'm only at a depth of 40ish at the moment, just slowly plodding around, taking my time looking around for a change instead of going as deep as possible as soon as possible like I normally would. 🙂 Need to get all the azurite! And I'm finding the delves a good spot to find jewellery so I can sell sets for chaos orbs. Totally expecting to get completely murdered as I get further. 😅
Wait have I missed something? You using ring with Flammability Curse but then you use Amulet to use a flammability as an Aura. Isn't a ring enough?
Btw its so good to see u doing a non-popular build. Most of people just spam meta builds and I think thats not fun at all. Working on your own build is the best thing if u play PoE for fun. I wish I could play this way some day If I wasn't an RMT fucker.
I'm not using the ring, I'm selling it. 🙂 Hopefully for a good 50 chaos or so!! 😅 Although that might be a bit too greedy considering the low numbers on it.

I want to do RMT gaming, but there's none that really interest me. Most of them don't feel like actual games. There's one coming out in a year or so that's a Pokemon clone MMORPG and pretty much everything in the game is going to be an NFT. Looking forward to that one!!

When I used to play the game, a chest piece like that one would've been hella expensive. But I played HC exclusively - so there's that.
I can't convince myself to get back into the game, I just want to play PoE2. It was supposed to come out twice by now though... You seem to still be enjoying the game though, would you say it's in a good spot right now?
And yes, Flameblast is one of the cooler spells in the game - objectively speaking. 😜

I play on occasion! 😄 I started when there were 24 hour Hardcore SSF races here on Hive at the start of a new league, but they haven't been held for ages now. Now I just play on normal every now and then.
With PoE... I'm looking forward to PoE2 coming! And I'm incredibly bored of the levelling slog just to get to where the real game starts; maps, heists, delves, etc. I wish they'd do something like Diablo where you could start your character in adventure mode rather than the campaign. But on the odd occasion I manage to get through it and when I get there I enjoy it! 😅

Dude, that's the exact reason I stopped playing. The leveling IS SUCH A GRIND. It's just busywork until you play the actual game.... But they don't seem willing to adjust it in any way.
Well, maybe PoE 2 will change things up. 😅
