RE: Buying an RTX 3080 has got me loving video games again! | ¡Comprar un RTX 3080 me ha vuelto a amar los videojuegos! Eng - Esp!

I'm hoping that my 3080ti renews my love for gaming again too. When I can finally use it. Either my brand new PSU is dead or my brand new motherboard is dead. Pisses me off. XD Waaaaaiting for replacements.

...without passion, what good is content creation?

Exactly!

Goddamn! That sucks! Where did you get the MOBO from? Wasn't from Newegg was it?

Nah, from a computer hardware store here in Aus. Pretty sure the mobo is fine, it posted and things once booted, but it seems as though the PSU (850W, more than enough) wasn't delivering enough power to the vga and now it's busted lol.

Damn! I spent hours trying to figure out why my 3080 wasn't working when I first got and decided to use 2 Pcie cables instead of daisy chaining em, and sure enough that fixed the problem.

The reason why I was asking about the MOBO is because the one I got from Newegg came in busted too and I only realized it after 2 days of trying to figure out why the computer wasn't booting!

Hopefully, you get a new PSU soon!

Ah okay, this is the first time I've heard of Newegg xD looked it up and they're available in Australia too, but think it's overseas shipping and whatnot.

My build is basically exactly the same as my partner's so was just expecting it to work, straight away, like his did, but noooo, miiiine has to have problems XD

That sucks about the motherboard! I was fretting that mine was busted too, but it seems that it's likely a power supply issue instead, which I hope. Heard so many horror stories about DOA motherboards killing everything attached to it. Pretty sure there are safeguards in place these days for more modern ones, but, still, the paranoia is there.

Glad you got yours all up and running and ready to roll!!

Where I live it's pretty much Newegg or nothing xD. When I ordered the MOBO it was two months before I actually built my PC and it just so happened the day I built my PC and found out the MOBO was missing some CPU socket pins, it was the day after the return policy ended.

I threatened to go to the BBB on them and they replaced it, after saying that they wouldn't at first. But I mentioned the fact that they were caught recently shipping damaged MOBO's so I think that changed their mind.

It's really odd though yours had problem if it didn't with your partners PC. But what can we do? It's life, eh?
