It is a Japanese fighting game, if I have to clarify that so you do not judge me after showing you the images of the game before I start, have any of you ever seen anime, I have friends who are big fans of it and they tell me that in the average anime the qualities of the girls are excessively visible, to put it sensibly if you do not understand me to see an average of 10 Japanese anime and you will know what I mean, well imagine that in a video game.
However, despite these things I have to say that the game as such is too cool especially for fans of Japanese culture, it has a pretty good story that I fell in love with the first time I heard and visualized it.
Ladies and gentlemen today I will talk about the fighting game Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate this game is exclusive to the Xbox Classic out of the oven in 2004, this is a fighting game based on the Japanese communities of the 19th century, with the theme of ninjas and futuristic warriors, the goal of the game is to complete the story mode with all the characters to unlock both hidden characters and new skins for the characters we already have.
The first time I saw it on the internet I thought it was a game for over 18 years, that was quite a few years ago, to make sure I tried it this month and I will tell you that I was surprised for good I would say very well, not only for the characters but also for the story quite striking, also its gameplay is very competitive.
Although the images can be somewhat insinuating because do not forget it is a Japanese game, the Japanese are years ahead of us, ok jokes aside if we ignore a little those themes that have a great game to have a good time with friends, I doubt very much that women like it, but who knows.
I must say that I didn't play this game in my childhood and you can imagine why, if you get to play Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate you will realize that if you press any button after the fight, the camera will go crazy or rather it will make a timely approach, it was funny the first time I tried it, I remember I downloaded the game and my best friend and I tried it, I won the fight and unintentionally pressed the "X" button while the girl was giving her victory quote, I will leave it up to you what the camera focused on, I will only tell you that I laughed my ass off hahaha.🤣
After that funny anecdote, I'll tell you a little about the story of the game: to begin with we have two main characters, two very adorable girls, but they are not very adorable because if you tell them something they will split your head, not in two, but eight parts, well we have Kasumi and Ayane.👩👱♀
Two girls who spent their childhood together can be said to be best friends for those years of childhood, they were from different clans with different principles, one day they are both fishing and Kasumi's guards arrive to pick her up, rejecting the probe Ayane who lives in a house in the forest with a wise man, Years go by and both girls train for the same master Mr. Hayate, the master teaches everything he knows to his disciples, especially to the girls, one day a bad man (who seems out of the movie Terminator) begins to kill everyone in the village, the chaos is so much that Ayane tries to defend his own but cannot against the immense power of that subject.
Master Hayate sees the scene and decides to defend one of his most dedicated students who decided to risk her life for her village, Hayate cannot at first with the power of this evildoer on the contrary it seems that he was going to lose until he launches his cosmic power of lightning to defeat the mysterious subject, the subject also has the same power of lightning and what follows for a scene of two Kamehameha colliding with each other but with lightning, Unfortunately, the master Hayate loses his life and the evildoer manages to escape barely alive, living in the village is not the same, especially for Kasumi, for her Hayate was a father and decides to "borrow" the katana of the deceased master to take revenge, this was seen as a betrayal in the village and the board of ninjas decides to give the job to Ayane to kill Kasumi for treacherous.
The rest of the story can be discovered in different ways by completing the story mode of each of the characters, all have different stories and objectives so we have about 10 different endings to the game, although we will always face the same final boss, I will not tell you which is not to make spoilers, with each character we will see different scenes, different developments with other characters even visions inside the mind of the character we are managing, a well-done story mode.
Subsequently, we have the characters, in total, we have 15 different characters and 3 of them must be unlocked, each has a different fighting style although it does not seem, we can also see their documentation data, something that struck me a lot and I tell this as an anecdote is that the African American character who wears glasses, has the same date of birth as me hahaha, no joke I was born on April 3 and the character named Zack in the game has the same date of birth, coincidence I do not think so hahaha.
Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate has impressive graphics, the truth for a game of 2004 seems to be of the seventh generation of consoles, we can realize the graphical potential of the game if only we saw for a moment the menu interface, although I must confess that at the beginning the interface plus the soundtrack that is heard in the menu reminded me a little to the F-Zero games.
We can also realize the great graphics if we visualize little scenarios that to tell the truth are very varied, we can fight in a forest to an aquarium or even in a nightclub, really the Japanese take great pains to get the potential to consoles especially the Xbox, I'm not sure if the PlayStation 2 console can run this magnificent game because the level of detail is outrageous for the time and the console of course.
Now let's talk about the essentials, the gameplay, Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate is a game where speed and small details are key to win a fight, you fall asleep and bye-bye, what I experienced playing with my best friend is that any movement is key to win, you have to have some experience in fighting games to understand the mechanics of it.
Why I say this, basically it is because a fist or a simple slap can lower you a lot of life or even worse leave your character stunned which will give more chances to the opponent to hurt you, and here falling asleep is bad, a combo of 5 hits can lower half of the bar if we propose it.
The characters can make fist combos, leg combos, or make a grab that will activate an exclusive move of the character in question, we also have a single fist or what I call an entrance, these two mechanics serve to initiate or complement a super powerful combo.
During the fight we can also interact with the scenery, throwing the opponent through the air, throwing him down a ravine, crashing him against a neon sign, throwing him down the stairs of the Chinese wall, throwing him into a lake, a poster of light or hit him with an elephant (poor elephant) and so on.
At first, when I tried the game the configuration of the controls was somewhat confusing, I do not remember it very well but from my experience, it is best to customize the controls to taste, in my case I simply configured the controls, I explain, in the "B" button I put the fist function, in "A" I placed the kicks, these two functions can produce combos of up to 4 hits, then in the "X" and "Y" buttons I placed the special moves that will vary depending on the character.
In the trigger "L" place what is the special grip, so when I'm in a somewhat compromising situation I can use the finger of the left hand instead of using the right hand while I cover myself from attacks, in the trigger "R" execute what is a super-strong kick, which can send the opponent to fuck up and in the black and white buttons place what is the block, this function serves to block a combo with an attack but we must be very precise to execute it.

Es un juego de lucha japones, si tengo que aclarar eso para que no me juzguen después de mostrarles las imágenes del juego, antes de empezar ¿Alguno de ustedes ha visto anime alguna vez?, pues tengo amigos que son muy fans de eso y me cuentan que en el anime promedio las cualidades de las chicas son excesivamente visibles, por decirlo de forma sensata, si no me entienden vean un promedio de 10 animes japoneses y sabrán de que hablo, bueno imagínense eso en un videojuego.
Sim embargo, a pesar de esas cosas tengo que decir que el juego como tal es demasiado chévere sobre todo para los fans de la cultura japonesa, tiene historia bastante buena que me enamoró la primera vez que la escuché y visualicé.
Damas y caballeros hoy les hablare del juego de peleas Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate este videojuego es exclusivo de la Xbox Clásica salido del horno en el año 2004, se trata de un videojuego de lucha basado en las comunidades japonesas del siglo 19, con temática de ninjas y guerreros futuristas, el objetivo del juego es completar el modo historia con todos los personajes para así desbloquear tanto personajes ocultos como skins nuevas para los personajes que ya disponemos.
La primera vez que lo vi en internet pensé que era un juego para mayores de 18 años, eso fue hace bastantes años, para asegurarme lo probé este mes y les diré que me sorprendió para bien diría que muy bien, no solo por los personajes si no también por la historia bastante llamativa, también su jugabilidad es muy competitiva.
Si bien las imágenes pueden ser algo salidas de todos insinuantes porque no olviden es un juego japonés los japoneses nos llevan años de ventaja, ok bromas aparte si ignoramos un poco esas temáticas que tiene tenemos un gran videojuego para pasarla bien con los amigos, dudo mucho que les gusté a las mujeres, pero quién sabe.
Cabe decir que este videojuego no lo jugué en mi infancia y se pueden imaginar el porqué, si ustedes llegan a jugar al Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate se darán cuenta que si presionan cualquier botón después de la pelea, la cámara se volverá loca o mejor dicho hará un enfoque oportuno, fue gracioso la primera vez que lo probe, recuerdo que descargue el juego y mi mejor amigo y yo lo probamos, le gané la pelea y sin querer presione el botón “X” mientras la chica daba su cita de victoria, les dejaré a su criterio lo que la cámara enfocó, sólo les diré que me partí de la risa jajajaja.🤣
Después de esa anécdota tan graciosa, les platicare un poco sobre que va la historia del juego: para comenzar tenemos dos protagonistas, dos chicas muy adorables, pero de adorables tienen poco ya que si les dices algo te parten la cabeza no en dos, 8 ocho partes, bueno tenemos a Kasumi y Ayane.👩👱♀
Dos niñas que pasaron la infancia juntas, se puede decir que eran mejores amigas por esos años de niñez, eran de clanes distintos con principios diferentes, un día ellas dos están pescando y llegan los guardias de Kasumi a recogerla rechazando a la pobre Ayane que vive en una casa en el bosque con un sabio, pasan los años y ambas chicas entrenan para el mismo maestro el señor Hayate, el maestro le enseña todo lo que sabe a sus discípulos, sobre todo a las niñas, un día un hombre malo (que parece salido de la película de terminador) empieza a matar a todos en la aldea, es tanto el caos que Ayane intenta defender a los suyos pero no puede contra el inmenso poder de ese sujeto.
El maestro Hayate ve la escena y decide defender a una de sus estudiantes más aplicadas que decidió arriegar la vida por su pueblo, Hayate no puede en principio con el poder de este malhechor al contrario pareciera que fuera a perder, hasta que lanza su poder cósmico de rayos para vencer al sujeto misterioso, el sujeto también tiene el mismo poder de rayo y lo que sigue para una escena de dos kamekamehas chocando entre si pero con rayos, lamentablemente el maestro Hayate pierde la vida y el sujeto malhechor lograr escapar a duras penas con vida, la vida en la aldea no es la misma, sobre todo para Kasumi, para ella Hayate era un padre y decide “tomar prestada” la katana del maestro difunto para cobrar venganza, esto se vio como una traición en la aldea y la junta de los ninjas decide darle el trabajo a Ayane de asesinar a Kasumi por traicionera.
El resto de la historia la podemos descubrir de diferente forma completando el modo historia de cada uno de los personajes, todos tienen historias y objetivos deferentes así que tenemos cerca de 10 finales diferentes para el juego, aunque siempre vamos a enfrentar al misma jefe final, no les diré cual es para no hacerles spoilers, con cada personaje veremos escenas diferentes, desarrollos diferentes con otros personajes incluso visiones dentro de la mente del personaje que estemos manejando, un modo historia bien logrado.
Posteriormente tenemos los personajes, en total tenemos 15 personajes diferentes y 3 de ellos deberán ser desbloqueados, cada uno tiene un estilo de lucha diferente aunque no lo parezca, también podemos ver sus datos de documentación, algo que me impacto mucho y esto lo cuento a modo de anécdota es que el personaje afroamericano que usa lentes, tiene la misma fecha de nacimiento que yo jajajaja, no es broma yo nací un 3 de abril y el personaje llamado Zack en el juego tiene la misma fecha de nacimiento, coincidencia no lo creo jajaja.
Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate tiene un apartado grafico impresionante, la verdad para ser un juego del 2004 parece de la séptima generación de las consolas, podemos darnos cuenta del potencial grafico del juego si tan solo viéramos por un momento la interfaz del menú, aunque debo confesar que al principio la interfaz más el soundtrack que se escucha en el menú me recordaron un poco a los juegos de F-Zero.
También podemos darnos cuenta de las grandes graficas si visualizamos un poco los escenarios que a decir verdad son muy variados, podemos pelear en un bosque hasta en un acuario o incluso en una discoteca, de verdad los japoneses se esmeran bastante en sacarle el potencial a las consolas sobre todo a la Xbox, yo no estoy seguro si la consola PlayStation 2 pueda correr este magnifico juegazo porque el nivel de detalle es escandaloso para la época y para la consola claro está.
Ahora hablemos de los esencial, la jugabilidad, Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate es un juego donde la rapidez y los pequeños detalles son claves para poder ganar una pelea, te duermes y chao, lo que yo experimente jugando con mi mejor amigo es que cualquier movimiento es clave para ganar, tienes que tener algo de experiencia en videojuegos de lucha para entender la mecánica del mismo.
Porqué digo esto, básicamente se debe a que un puño o una simple cachetada te puede bajar mucha vida o peor aun dejar a tu personaje aturdido lo cual le dará más chances al oponente de hacerte daño y aquí dormirse es malo, un combo de 5 golpes te puede bajar la mitad de la barra si lo proponemos.
Los personajes pueden hacer combos de puños, combos de patas o hacer un agarre que activará un movimiento exclusivo del personaje en cuestión, también tenemos un solo puño o a lo que llamo yo una entrada, estas dos mecánicas sirven para iniciar o complementar un combo super potente.
Durante la pelea también podremos interactuar con el escenario, lanzando al oponente por los aires, tirándolo por un barranco , estrellarlo contra un cartel de neón, tirarlo por las escaleras de la muralla china , lanzarlo a un lago, un poster de luz o golpear con un elefante (pobre elefante) y demás cosas.
Al principio cuando probé el juego la configuración de los controles era algo confusa, no la recuerdo muy bien pero desde mi experiencia lo mejor es personalizar los controles al gusto, en mi caso configuré los mandos de forma sencilla, me explico, en el botón “B” puse la función de puños, en “A” coloque las patadas, estás dos funciones pueden producir combos de hasta 4 golpes, luego en los botones “X” y “Y” coloque los movimientos especiales que van a variar según el personaje.
En el gatillo “L” coloque lo que es el agarre especial, así cuando este en una situación un tanto comprometedora puedo usar el dedo de la mano izquierda en vez de usar la mano derecha mientras me cubro de los ataques, en el gatillo “R” ejecuta lo que es una patada super fuerte, que puede mandar a tomar por saco el rival y en los botones negro y blanco coloque lo que es el bloqueo, esa función sirve para bloquear un combo con un ataque pero debemos ser muy precisos para ejecutarlo.
