In this video, I'm playing Gran Turismo 2 and racing on the Seattle Short Circuit. I'm driving a Volkswagen Lupo, which is a small, lightweight car.
I played using the DuckStation emulator on my phone. I modified the car with all the drivetrain parts, tires, suspension and brakes; and only with some HP to meet the requirement for the race.
I made two touches to the wall during the race, but I was able to keep my car under control and finish the race in first place.
The Volkswagen Lupo is not a very powerful car, but it is very light and nimble. This made it easy to maneuver around the track and avoid the other cars.

Good luck with the rest of the events; while on one hand it feels funny though slow to go with the events that require you small HP (which is where I remember having to opt for the Lupo), on the other hand at least you might have a more gradual progress from slow cars to the stuff that will require you the A-License and then the Euro League onwards, which you will definitely need to grind some money to get good cars for those with the Special Events.
