Este videojuego es cuanto menos curioso debido a que era un videjuego que podía ser jugado en diferentes dispositivos, y como dato curioso incluso se podía escuchar este videojuego con los speakers que traían las pc de mesa antiguamente, e inclusive podía ser jugados en algunos computadores de la empresa IBM aunque obviamente en esos característicos colores verdes o anaranjados debido a que esos computadores no eran capaces de poder mostrar una imagen a color totalmente y por el contrario debíamos jugarlo con esta gamas de colores, algo que seguro los más jóvenes ni se imaginaban que existías en aquellos años, ya que incluso algunas computadoras de la gran empresa de IBM datan del año 1995 incluso antes yo nacer, pero sin duda alguna este videojuego obtuvo una gran cantidad de fans con el pasar de los años, y envejeció realmente bien con el pasar de los años, ya que incluso en algunas consolas retro o computadores retro, se acostumbra a tener este videojuego para emular con su banda sonora original, aunque claro es bastante diferente escuchar la banda sonora de este videojuego con audio digital a como era el audio en aquella época, que la mayor sensación era tener alguna tarjeta de sonido especializada en poder transmitir estos sonidos en la mejor calidad, de lo contrario deberíamos escuchar sonidos bastante básicos que era lo que podían transmitir las pc de esas épocas.

El videojuego fue lanzado nada más y nada menos que en el año 1990, en donde a pesar de que a día de hoy te parezca un videojuego realmente básico, para aquella época los gráficos 3D solo eran una fantasía debido a que la época 3D empezó con la salida de consolas como nintedo 64, sega saturn y posteriormente esto fue seguido de consolas como la Playstation y GameCube, Xbox entra otras, pero claro, el hecho de poder jugar a este videojuego en sus primeras versiones era todo un privilegio en aquellas épocas, ya que debemos recordar que en aquellos tiempos, no todo el mundo tenía acceso a estas tecnologías o tenía la posibilidad económica de adquirir un pc en la que pudieran jugar a este videojuego, aunque como mencione incluso las computadoras de IBM eran capaces de poder jugar a este videojuego a pesar de sus limitaciones, solo para que se hagan una idea, dichas computadoras de IBM en su mayoría no superaban 1mb de ram, ya que por lo general siempre tenían cantidades entre 512 o 612kb de ram, pero además de eso, el videojuego tenía gran compatibilidad con diferentes computadoras de la época, teniendo varias versiones en la que cada una podía distinguirse de la otra debido a su calidad de colores y entornos en donde nos encontrábamos, debido a que como dije algunas computadoras no eran capaces de generar una imagen a color todavía, siendo las computadoras IBM las que menos destacaban en apartado gráfico este videojuego, podríamos decir que esto era básicamente el inicio de la diferencias gráficas entre un dispositivo u otro, dependiendo de donde quisiéramos jugar al videojuego.

Otro aspecto a destacar de este videojuego es que básicamente teníamos animaciones realmente buenas para la época a pesar de su calidad de gráficos pixelados, aunque de igual manera la historia del videojuego también fue excelente y fue la razón de que muchos jugadores lo recuerden con cariño el día de hoy, y que incluso para algunos fue su primer acercamiento al mundo de los videojuegos, ya que no era tan sencillo a día de hoy iniciar en este mundo del gaming, la historia del juego nos narraba la historia del pirata Guybrush Treepwood, el cual tiene la misión de convertirse en el pirata más temido del Caribe, bastante similar a la historia de barba negra o del mismísimo Edward Kenway en Assasin’s Creed 4 no creen?, como villano principal del juego teníamos al pirata LeChuck que destacaba por su personalidad malvada y despiadada, además de que teníamos a personajes como la gobernadora de la isla Elaine Marley, este videojuego solo fue el inicio de una gran saga de videojuegos que probablemente veamos en otros post de esta misma serie, pero sin duda alguna la aventura en la que nos embarca este primer videojuego es increíble, y es muy curioso ver a día de hoy, como funcionaba este videojuego en las computadoras de antaño teniendo tantas limitaciones como lo había en ese tiempo, ya que inclusive el cache que a día de hoy vienen incluidos en los procesadores actuales de esta generación, en aquellos tiempos el cache de los procesadores iba alojado en slots de tarjetas adicionales que iban en la tarjeta madre, una especie de memoria ram adicional, solo que en vez de hacer la función de memoria ram, estas eran las memorias caché de dichos equipos, este videojuego son de esos que gracias a su sencillez se hacen realmente memorables de tan solo recordarlos, por su calidad de gameplay y por la historias que algunas vez nos hicieron disfrutar de unas buenas horas de juego, cuando la tecnología de las computadoras seguía en pañales todavía.
