GeoGuessr, maybe you don't know this game by name, or maybe you've never played it. But you probable know what game it is. In the last couple of days i've been obssesed with a youtube channel of a GeoGuessr player and adventure lover, Tom Davies "GeoWizard". He's one of the best players and he has been playing for a long long time, having more than 600k suscribers in youtube.
So in the past few days i've been playing the daily free game that you can play. Throughout the time geoguessr became a suscription game, being free in the past. You can pay the suscription €2.99/month or €1.99/month paying the whole year (€23.88).
The thing i love about this game, that i learned with GeoWizard, it's learning geography to guess the place that you are in. Obviusly the most easy way it's to walk the road and look for a sign, or a flag that gives away the place that you are in, but using little details like the place of sun (North or South), the type of vegetation of the zone, the quality of the roads, car plates (blured) and so on, that is maybe the best way to improve in this game and learning geography in the process.
Gameplay
The game it's rather simple, it uses google street view, drops you in a random place of the entire world (at least countries that were visited by google streetview) and you have to guess exactly were you are, by exactly i mean the closest you are most points you get, giving you a maximum of 5000 points by round and having maximum 25000 points by game (in the classic mode). You can move up and down the road and zoom in.
In the classic game, you play up to 5 rounds, dropped in a different part of the world everytime. You can play with default settings (without time-limit and no move restrains).
The way you guess is by marking in the map where you think you are, and then pressing guess, and then the game will tell you how far or close you guessed.
Aswell you can play with friends, using a link to invite them and playing with the same rules to see who gets the highscore.
Gamemodes
Geoguessr provides various gamemodes for you to play. Not only has the "entire world" map, you can play by country, continents, famous places, only urban places, and lots of maps created by people of specific places and countries.
Besides that, you can play in other ways.
Classic
This is the OG, the classic game mode of all time, you play 5 rounds, up to maxium 5000 points by round to have up to maxium 25000 points by every game. In this gamemode you have to guess the "exact" place, by that i mean you have to guess below the 100-200 meters mark to maybe have the highscore, the farest you guess the less points you get.
Country Streak
In this game mode, you are dropped in any place of the world, but you have to guess just the country. You don't have to guess the exact place, and the game keeps going until you are incorrect, so you can keep playing and playing, this gamemode it's pretty good to get used to places in general, recognizing the countries, the houses, the vegetation without worrying about the exact location.
Battle Royale
Yes, you read it well, Geoguessr got into Battle Royale too. How does it work?.
10 Players log into a game, and you have to guess where you are with a limit of time, you have 3 lives and have to guess before the other players, other players make guesses aswell and everyone can see the mistakes so you know which countries are not the correct ones.
I have to say, they are short games, you can last between 2 and maybe 8 minutes, so if you have little free time you can play maybe a few quick games. If you win, get points, and rank, so you are matched with better players with better ranks. It's actually pretty fun.
NMPZ
NMPZ means: No Moving Panning or Zooming, this is a type of challenge you can select when going to play any map of the Classic and Country Streak modes, this is a difficulty adition to the game itself, this is another level, when you are selecting all of the options you are playing a NMPZ Run, playing in the most difficult way of all.
You can Select wheter all of the options or just one at a time, No Moving, No Zooming, No move nor Zoom and NMPZ. And you can challenge your friends in a NMPZ Run just marking the rules you want.
Leaderboards
All of this bring su to the Leaderboards, many people compete to be in the Leaderboards of World Records of Geoguessr, yup you can track that here.
There's a lot of types of world records and leaderboards, highscores of country streaks (117), No Moving, No Zooming, No Panning, NMPZ, and every way of playing the game you can imagine. For you to figure in this leaderboards you have to record the games, it can be on twitch, youtube or whatever (like our dear youtuber GeoWizard), but you have lo leave record of what happened and it will be reviewed to see if anyone if cheating.
The community of this game it's enormous, and it's very fun to play, and to get better with time and playing a lot. So i recommend you to play and share your records.

GeoGuessr, a lo mejor no sabes de que juego hablo solo por el nombre, o puede ser que nunca lo hayas jugado. Pero, muy probablemente sepas que juego es. En los últimos días he estado obsesionado con un canal de youtube de un jugador de Geoguessr y amante de la aventura llamado Tom Davis o "GeoWizard". Esuno de los mejores jugadores y ha estado jugando durante mucho tiempo, teniendo más de 600.000 suscriptores en Youtube.
Así que en los últimos días he jugado la run diaría a la que tienes acceso. Con el paso del tiempo Geoguessr se convirtió en un juego de suscripción, cuanod era gratis en el pasado. Puedes pagar la suscripción de €2.99/mes o la de €1.99/mes pagando el año entero (€23.88).
Lo que amo de éste juego, que aprendí con GeoWizard, es aprender geografía para adivinar el lugar en el que estás, obviamente a manera más fácil es ir por la vía buscando una señal, una bandera que diga donde estás, pero aprendes a usar detalles como la posición del sol (Norte o Sur), tipo de vegetación de la zona, la calidad de los caminos, placas de auto (censuradas) y así con muchos detalles, esa es probablemente la mejor manera de mejorar y así aprender un poco en el proceso.
Jugabilidad
El jugo es bastante simple, usa Google Street View, te deja en un lugar aleatorio del mundo (al menos los país que fueron visitados por street view), y tienes que adivinar exactamente donde estás, por exactamente quiero decir que mientras más cerca estés del punto exacto mejor puntuación tendrás, otorgando un máximo de 5000 puntos por ronda y 25000 puntos por juego (en el modo clásico). Puedes moverte por las calles y ampliar la imagen.
En el juego clásico juegas hasta 5 rondas y en cada una siendo un lugar dieferente cada vez. Puedes jugar con opciones predeterminadas (sin límite de tiempo y sin ningún impedimento de movimiento)
La manera en la que adivinas es marcando en el mapa donde piensas que estás y luego presionando "adivinar/guess", entonces te dirá que tan lejos o cerca estuviste.
Además puedes jugar con amigos, usando un enlace para invitarlos a jugar con as mismas reglas para ver quién ha hecho mejor puntaje.
Modos de Juego
Geoguessr tiene varios modos de juego para ti, no solo tiene el mapa del "mundo entero", si no que puedes jugar por países, continentes, lugares famosos, solo lugares urbanos, y muchos mapas creados por gente de lugares específicos y/o países.
Y encima de eso tenemos otros modos:
Clásico
Como su nombre lo indica, el de toda la vida, juegas hasta 5 rondas por juego, máximo 5000 puntos por ronda, y máximo 25000 por partida. En éste modo de juego tienes que adivinar el lugar "exacto", con eso me refiero que tienes que adivinar por debajo de la marca de 100 a 200km para tener probablemente la puntuación más alta, mientras más lejos estés menos puntos tendrás.
Country Streak / Tanda de Países
En éste modo de juego te sueltan en cualquier lugar del mundo, pero solo tienes que adivinar el país. No tienes que adivinar el lugar exacto, y además el jugo sigue y sigue hasta que falles, así que puedes seguir jugando cuanto quieras, éste modo de juego está bastante bien para acostumbrarte a los lugares en general, reconociendo los países y sus características como casa, vegetación o idioma sin tener que preocuparte por la localización específica.
Battle Royale
Sip, lo has leído bien, Geoguessr desarolló un Battle Royale también ¿cómo funciona?.
10 jugadores entran en una partida, y ienes que adivinar donde estás con un límite de tiempo, teniendo 3 vidas y tienes que hacerlo antes que otros juagdores, los demás también adivinan y puedes ver los errores que adivinan para saber que países No son los correctos.
He de decir que son partidas cortas, pueden durar entre 2 y 8 minutos como mucho, así que si tienes un tiempo libre puedes jugar por lo menos 3 partidas. Si ganas obtienes puntos, y rango, así que te tocará jugar con mejores jugadores con mejores rangos, es realmente divertido.
NMPZ
NMPZ significa: No Moving Panning or Zooming, ésto quiere decir Sin Movimiento, Ni Panorámico (sin girar cámara), Ni ampliar (Zoom). Éste es un tipo de reto que puedes seleccionar con cualquier mapa Clásico o Tanda de Países
Puedes seleccionar todas las opciones o solo una, Sin Mover, Sin ampliar, Sin Mover ni Ampliar, y lo llamado NMPZ. También puedes retar a tus amigos a una partida de NMPZ al seleccionar las reglas.
Tabla de Clasificación
Todo ésto nos trae a la Tabla de Clasificación, aquí mucha gente compite para estar enlas tablas de los récords mundiale sde Geoguessr, sí y poemos verlo aquí.
Hay muchos tipos de Récords Mundiales para batir en la tabla, mejores puntuaciones de Tanda de Países (117), Sin Mover, Sin Ampliar, Sin Girar cámara, o NMPZ, todas las maneras de jugar al juego que puedas imaginar. Para que puedas clasificar a ésta tabla tienes que grabar tus partidas, puede ser en Twitch, Youtube o lo que sea (como nuestro querido youtuber GeoWizard), pero tienes que dejar constancia de lo que ha sucedido y cómo ha sucedido y será revisada para saber si hubo trampas.
La comunidad de éste juego es enorme, y es muy divertido de jugar, ser mejor con el tiempo jugando bastante, así que te recomiendo que juegues y compartas tus récords.
