Elden Ring - Memorable Screenshots - Collection # 5
~
This is a tree near a cliff in the red hellscape region of Caelid in the Eastern area of the Lands Between in the game, ELDEN RING. If you leave this tree, you will be met by four dragons to your right and a giant demonic tree wizard if you go to the left.
Here's some quick info on the game:
(Actual post is BELOW this intro info!)

This is just the same location but my Tarnished character standing up with her sword drawn, Rogier's Rapier. It's a quick weapon with decent range for a one-handed regular sword. The banner message across her is notifying me that I have been summoned to another player's world after they've activated my multiplayer sign.

These two were taken in a dungeon in the Northern Altus region. After fighting through armies of monsters my Tarnished character is covered in blood so it's a good thing she's wearing armor and a mask.
~
Here's a close up below -- actually the helmet she's wearing a wigged helmet with a mask plate. I'm not sure how long the blood stays on, perhaps until you reach a checkpoint. There's a soap item in the game, maybe this is what it's for.

Here's my Tarnished character and our mount Torrent chilling in Liurnia Lakes below Raya Lucaria Academy and a beautiful starry sky. Sometimes in the game you ride completely past really stellar sights like these without having the time to pause and enjoy it. I've often made return trips to Limgrave for that exact reason -- there's a lot of spots where I didn't take a recess and stop to smell the flowers ... or, in this case, the lake and sky.

This one is, "Are You Malenia? You Look Like Malenia."
In the world of Elden Ring, there is a red haired demigod named Malenia the Severed who wore a helmet covering her face, was missing her right arm, miraculously lived with a magical disease called Scarlet Rot that mutates or kills most things, and disappeared during a demigod war for the Elden Ring that was called the Shattering.
In the picture above, we have Milicent -- a woman who doesn't appear to know who she is. She has RED hair, is missing her RIGHT ARM, and SURVIVES with SCARLET ROT inside of her.
If that wasn't clear ...
Malenia the Severed | Milicent the Forgetful |
---|---|
Had long red hair | Also has long red hair |
Wore a helmet covering her face | Could look like Malenia |
Missing her right arm | Also missing her right arm |
Can survive having scarlet rot inside her | Can also survive with scarlet rot inside her |
... I rest my case!
It would be awesome to learn later that Milicent is secretly Malenia. While this is probably not the case, since it's a bit of a wild guess -- Elden Ring is pretty crazy so everything feels possible.

"Weary Traveler Lay Your Head in Ruins"
In Elden Ring, there is so much decay and ruin. The world is not even healing but still flailing in agony from the wounds struck into it by the demigod war of the Shattering. A part of me wonders what it would've been like if the game had the Tarnished fighting alongside the demigods, being sent into the gigantic clash of heavenly and demonic characters but instead the story revolves around the aftermath which has a certain poetry to it as well ... after everything has been ruined the only answer left is you -- the Tarnished.

MASK OF THE BLIND PHILOSOPHER
Really loved how my character's armor looked in this shot, at this point I was wearing a masked-helmet that looked like a blindfolded Greek philosopher. It was entertaining to me, for my Tarnished who is a young woman to wear a helmet that looks like a blind old man. The battlefield here is either just before or after fighting a Grafted Scion, basically a spider made out of body parts from fallen soldiers. They kind of look like General Grievous from Stars Wars.

This is a cool structure that leads to the higher plateaued area of the Lands Between called Altus, it required two halves of a special medallion to access and is one of the few cut scenes you get in this game (definitely more than three but not a lot).

"When You're Trying to Enjoy the Magic Campfire But Your Crazy Maiden Friend Starts Babbling Nonsense"
Maybe "babbling nonsense is too strong of a word but Melina rarely shows up to visit you and when she does it's kind of annoying because you've been through so much and she's just there to be all cryptic or give you orders. This time it was a little sad because she said we were almost to the end of her journey and I had no idea when we'd hit the halfway marker on whatever special mission she thought we were on. Anyway, we still owe Melina for the miracle of making us no longer maidenless.

"The Gates of Altus"
This cut scene was pretty cool. I'd describe it but I don't want to spoil how awesome it is -- it involves the medallions pictured below.
~
"Medallions Mentioned Above"
One of the reasons why I loved this shot was because of how you get to see how cool my Carrion Knight gauntlets are -- they almost slightly look like Thanos'gauntlet from Infinity War.

Here I Am Pretending to Be A Bush to Pick Up My Fallen Runes lmao

And here's the remains of an epic battlefield in Altus near the capital city of Leyendell, just a visually amazing game!
