Outland: A hero in two times [Eng+Spa]

Greetings, this excellent weekend, wishing you are the best that humanly possible and wishing you much encouragement to face the challenges of the week ahead.

On this occasion, I share my impressions of the Outland Game, originally created for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2011, by the Finnish studio Housemarque.

I got the PC version for Steam that was released in 2014, as a gift, by Valve.

This game is way out of my comfort zone, but I wanted to try something different. A detail to take into account is that it should be played preferably with a controller, the keyboard control layout is anatomically absurd, hehe, unless you are a pianist, of course. It is in this section, where it is noted, that it is a game born for consoles.

Apart from this detail, it is a very simple game, the soundtrack is good, even a player who is not a platformer can advance, with some dedication. The achievements of the game are quite decent, they do not border on absurd requests.

I liked the story, it's not too complex, but it does its job of putting us in the mood.

We are told that we will be the reincarnation of a powerful and ancient warrior, who once again has to rise up and fight to stop a fateful fate for the world.

Our nemesis will be two sister deities who, according to the history of the game, created the world.

And for some reason, then they sought its destruction.

Our hero begins in the cabin of a wise shaman, who guides him to start the adventure.

As we progress we unlock skills to access areas of the game.

I would have liked the background not to be so dark, to be able to better see the character in this initial part.

Along the way, we will be given guide signs, in the form of luminous butterflies. It is quite pleasing to the eye.

They are generous with the save points, they are very well located.

The design of the maps is simple as such, but they abound in indications.

The stats and skills section, like everything else in this game, is elegantly simple.

It is of the metroidvania type, we will need to unlock skills to return to previous areas and get hold of rare items and objects.

They show us the skills, while we advance and we will see shadowy platforms, to which we do not have access, in the initial parts of the game, (I was like a fool trying to climb for a long time)

Gradually, they will complicate our lives, the difficulty curve is quite friendly.

The part that I liked the most and with the best music, from the initial part, is when you arrive at the temple of the sisters, go back 30,000 years and fight as the ancient hero.

In this part for the first time we access the characteristic mechanics of the game, to use spiritual energy, light (blue) and darkness (red), It gives it more versatility and is quite fun.

We can interact with elements of the active color, the elements of the opposite color will be shaded and we will not be able to use them.
And enemy attacks of the same color will not affect us.
Of course, to attack we must have the opposite color of the enemy.

Well, I hope this little review has been to your liking, it's a pretty fun game, without many complications, the mechanics of changing between light and dark, it's great. But playing it with a keyboard is a martyrdom, I will take it again when I get a controller.

Saludos, este excelente final de semana, deseando que estén lo mejor que humanamente se pueda y deseándoles mucho ánimo para enfrentar los retos de la semana que se nos viene.

En esta ocasión, les comparto mis impresiones sobre el Juego Outland, originalmente fue creado para Xbox 360 y la PlayStation 3 por el año del 2011, por el estudio Finlandés Housemarque.

Yo obtuve la versión de PC para Steam que vio la luz en el año 2014, como un obsequio, por Valve.

Este juego se sale mucho de mi zona de confort, pero quise probar algo diferente. Un detalle a tomar en cuenta, es que debe jugarse preferiblemente con mando, la distribución de control con teclado, es anatómicamente absurda, je je, a menos que seas un pianista, claro. Es en este apartado, donde se nota, que es un juego nacido para consolas.

Apartando este detalle, es un juego muy sencillo, la banda sonora es buena, hasta un jugador que no es de plataformas, puede avanzar, con algo de dedicación. Los logros del juego son bastante decentes, no rayan en peticiones absurdas.

La historia me gusto, no es demasiado compleja, pero cumple su cometido de ponernos en ambiente.

Se nos cuenta que seremos la reencarnación de un poderoso y antiguo guerrero, que una vez más tiene que levantarse y luchar por detener un destino aciago para el mundo.

Nuestro nemesis, serán dos deidades hermanas que, según la historia del juego, crearon el mundo.

Y por algún motivo, luego buscaron su destrucción.

Nuestro héroe comienza, en la cabaña de un sabio chamán, que lo orienta para iniciar la aventura.

Al ir avanzando desbloqueamos habilidades para acceder a zonas del juego.

Me habría gustado que el fondo no fuese tan oscuro, para poder notar mejor el personaje en esta parte inicial.

Por el camino, se nos darán señales guía, con la forma de mariposas luminosas. Es bastante agradable a la vista.

Son generosos con los puntos de guardado, están muy bien ubicados.

El diseño de los mapas, es simple como tal, pero abundan en indicaciones.

El apartado de estadísticas y habilidades como todo en este juego es de una simplicidad elegante.

Es del tipo metroidvania, necesitaremos desbloquear habilidades para regresar a zonas anteriores y hacernos con ítems y objetos raros.

Nos van mostrando las habilidades, mientras avanzamos y veremos plataformas sombreadas, a las que no tenemos acceso, en las partes iniciales del juego, (yo estuve como un necio tratando de subir un buen rato)

Paulatinamente, irán complicándonos la vida, la curva de dificultad es bastante amable.

La parte que más me gusto y con mejor música, de la parte inicial, es al llegar al templo de las hermanas, retroceder 30.000 años y luchar como el héroe antiguo.

En esta parte por primera vez accedemos a la mecánica característica del juego, de usar energía espiritual, de luz (azul) y de oscuridad (rojo), Le da más versatilidad y es bastante divertida.

Podemos interactuar con elementos del color activo, los elementos del color contrario, estarán sombreados y no podremos usarlos.
Y los ataques enemigos del mismo color, no nos afectarán.
Claro que para atacar debemos tener el color opuesto al enemigo.

Bien, espero que esta pequeña reseña, haya sido de su agrado, es un juego bastante divertido, sin muchas complicaciones, la mecánica del cambio entre luz y oscuridad, es genial. Pero jugarlo con teclado es un martirio, Volveré a tomarlo cuando me haga con un mando.

Looks like a decent platformer but I do agree that the contrast between the character and the background should be more distinct. It's hard to see the guy at times even in the screenshots.

Visibility improves further when you gain the Light and Dark powers. But at first it is difficult to notice it on the screen.

This game does look pretty good metroidvania type, I really like this type of game, it reminds me of dead gambit, or blasphemous, they are very good, it would be great if you could share a gameplay of this in video type friend.

At the time, he was nominated for game of the year in his country. It's hard to play with the keyboard layout it comes with, and I don't have a controller. You have to make the change of power from light to dark quickly, I will return to it when I have a controller to play with.

Realmente parece un juego mucho más moderno, cuando empecé a leer pensé que seria un juego que salió hace algunos años pero que este ya desde el 2014 me sorprendió. Lo había escuchado mencionar pero aparte del nombre no conocía nada así que muy agradecido de que lo hayas podido traer, siempre esta bueno renovar el repertorio de juegos que uno conoce jajaa.
Por otro lado muchas felicitaciones por tu post, te pue extremadamente bien.

Sufrí un poco, no es mi estilo de juego, y aún no recupero la movilidad total de mi mano izquierda. Pero logre hacer lo suficiente para la reseña. Muy agradecido por sus buenos deseos. Aprecio que me haya leído y comentado amigo.
