I've already talked about Rocket League, but when I had the opportunity to play it, it was in a rather limited way since I couldn't play online and my matches were against the CPU, which obviously is never going to have human behavior, and that makes it a bit boring, or at least for me.
For some time it has crossed my mind to download it, but I had no one to play it with continuously, so I didn't do it, until a few days ago I met a friend who also wanted to play it, and I downloaded it to play the next day, I don't regret it, because I really wanted to play, however, I didn't expect that I was going to get the shit kicked out of me.
To begin with, when I played Rocket League the first time it hadn't even been acquired by Epic Games, now it has a kind of battle pass which could not interest me less, for once, I just want to drive cars and score goals, nothing else, so I haven't delved into how exactly the new monetization system works, but while playing I was given something similar to a lootbox, I opened it and I got a trail to customize the car, in this section I have not done much beyond changing the color because as I say, I don't care that much.
As soon as I opened it my friend and I went to play 1 vs 1, and as you can see in the video I edited for this post, I had a first goal that made me believe, illusively, that they would be balanced matches, I couldn't have been more naive, I will not comment more, watch the first two minutes of the video.
Based on that interesting experience Kiara started to explain to me basic notions of the game, and a couple of other tips like changing the camera movement and the field of view to have more visibility of the field and not only what you have in front of you, so between the first matches and the practice section, you may notice a difference in the camera distance, you will also probably notice a reduction in the graphics because, although my PC is fully capable of running the game with everything at maximum, the graphic configuration I switched to use is "competitive", focused on maintaining stability during online games as much as possible.
During the time I've been able to enjoy Rocket League it has changed my perception of the game and the way I play obviously, I have noticed that you can't just stay on the ground and wait for the ball to fall, many times someone who knows how to control the car in the air will be faster than you and move it from place or even make a goal, while you were waiting underneath without doing anything.

That brings me to another aspect that before was not so important to me and now I find it scarce, the boost, as you may know, you have a boost bar that you can accumulate to boost yourself and increase your speed, it also serves to rise in the air and make crazy moves, I tried an exercise that consisted of climbing to the top of the field and fall with the wheels up, then fall in the same place from which I propelled myself in the first place, it's complicated but mostly is to work the movement at a mechanical level to master it.
After practicing for a while we tried to do some 2 vs 2 matches against random people, not competitive obviously, surprisingly, we won most of the matches, but my way of playing is noob as fuck, obviously, I need to work on my aerial handling of the car, something that is obvious but I didn't know, is that the cars have different speeds and hitbox based on the one you equip, and the Octane, the default car, is quite balanced in these aspects, so I'll keep using it for the moment.
At the moment I've only played the standard game mode, no weird stadiums or power ups, the traditional casual experience, and the truth is that it was quite entertaining, regardless of the fact that I got the shit kicked out of me several times, it's a game in which I would like to improve, and I will eventually, but until then, keep practicing, I have not much more to add, Rocket League seems fun to play with and/or against friends and I hope, for my own sake, to improve sooner rather than later haha, thank you very much for reading.

Ya he hablado de Rocket League, pero cuando tuve la oportunidad de jugarlo, fue de una forma bastante limitada ya que no podía jugar online y mis partidos eran contra la CPU, la cual, obviamente, jamás va a tener un comportamiento humano, y eso lo hace un poco aburrido, o al menos para mi.
Desde hace tiempo me ha pasado por la cabeza descargarlo, pero no tenía nadie con quien jugarlo continuamente, así que no lo hice, hasta que hace unos días coincidí con una amiga que también quería jugarlo, y lo descargué para jugar al día siguiente, si bien no me arrepiento, porque tenía muchas ganas de jugar, tampoco esperaba que me iban a dar clases de como jugar competitivamente.
Para empezar, cuando jugué a Rocket League la primera vez ni siquiera había sido adquirido por Epic Games, ahora tiene una especie de pase de batalla el cual no podría interesarme menos, por una vez, solo quiero conducir autos y meter goles, nada más, así que no he indagado en cómo funciona exactamente el nuevo sistema de monetización, pero mientras jugaba me dieron algo similar a una lootbox, la abrí y me salió un rastro para personalizar el auto, en este apartado no he hecho mucho más allá de cambiar el color pues como les digo, poco me importa.
Apenas abrirlo mi amiga y yo fuimos a jugar 1 vs 1, y como podrán ver en el video que edité para este post, tuve un primer gol me que hizo creer, ilúsamente, que serían partidas equilibradas, no podía tener una visión más errónea de las cosas, no comentaré más, vean los dos primeros minutos del video.
En base a esa interesante experiencia Kiara empezó a explicarme nociones básicas del juego, y otro par de tips como cambiar el movimiento de la cámara y el campo de visión para tener mayor visibilidad del campo y no solo lo que tienes enfrente, por eso entre los primeros partidos y la sección de práctica, pueden notar una diferencia en la distancia de la cámara, también es probable que noten una reducción en los gráficos pues, aunque mi PC es completamente capaz de ejecutar el juego con todo al máximo, la configuración gráfica que pasé a utilizar es “competitiva”, enfocada en mantener la estabilidad durante las partidas online todo lo posible.
Durante el tiempo que he podido disfrutar del Rocket League ha cambiado mi percepción del juego y la forma en la que juego obviamente, he notado que no puedes limitarte a estar en el suelo y esperar que caiga la pelota, muchas veces vendrá alguien antes que tú que sabe controlar el auto en el aire y la moverá de lugar o incluso te hará un gol, mientras tú esperabas debajo sin hacer nada.

Eso me lleva a otro aspecto que antes no se me hacía tan importante y ahora lo encuentro escaso, el boost, como bien sabrán, tienes una barra de boost que puedes acumular para impulsarte y aumentar tu velocidad, también sirve para elevarte en el aire y hacer jugadas loquisimas, intenté un ejercicio que consistía en subir hasta la parte de arriba del campo y caer con las ruedas hacia arriba, luego caer en el mismo sitio del cual me impulsé en primer lugar, es complicado pero mayormente es trabajar el movimiento a nivel mecánico hasta dominarlo.
Luego de practicar un rato intentamos hacer algunas partidas 2 vs 2 contra gente random, no competitivo obviamente, sorpresivamente, ganamos la mayoría de los partidos, pero mi forma de jugar sigue siendo bastante de principiante, obviamente, necesito trabajar en mi manejo aéreo del auto, algo que es obvio pero que no sabía, es que los autos tienen diferentes velocidades y hitbox en base al que te equipes, y el Octane, el auto por defecto, está bastante balanceado en estos aspectos, así que lo seguiré usando por los momentos.
Por el momento solo he jugado al modo de juego estándar, sin estadios raros ni power ups, la experiencia casual tradicional, y la verdad es que fue bastante entretenido, indiferentemente de que me hayan sacado la mierda varias veces, es un juego en el cual me gustaría mejorar, y lo haré eventualmente, pero hasta entonces, toca seguir practicando, no tengo mucho más que agregar, Rocket League me parece divertido para jugar con y/o contra amigos y espero, por mi propio bien, mejorar más temprano que tarde haha, muchas gracias por leer.

Sorprendentemente, el juego no va nada mal con la conexión que manejo, a veces sí se pone problemático pero me sorprende que, siendo el juego que es, y con algo tan complicado de mantener estable como una pelota en un entorno 3D con todo y físicas, pues me sorprende.
Yo lo juego si alguien más me invita o viceversa, pero jugarlo solo me aburre, así que lo entiendo, aunque el Overwatch es verdad que no lo vuelvo a tocar haha, gracias por comentar Perce.
No lo he intentado jugar online por tenerle cosa al launcher de Epic Games y que suelo resistirme para bajar juegos de jugar online que realmente no vaya a jugar frecuente...pero si puedo decir que Rocket League era una joya para jugarlo en reuniones con panas; un verdadero Dark Souls del futbolito en carritos 😎
Totalmente de acuerdo, jugarlo con panas es lo mejor ever, creo que a menos que tengas una conexión de la NASA lo mejor es jugarlo de forma local, así la experiencia es perfecta, gracias por pasarte Striker.

Tengo tiempo sabiendo de la existencia de este juego, pero nunca pude jugarlo como tal, de hecho, aún no puedo, sólo pude jugar la versión de movimientos 2d, la cual es bastante entretenida la verdad y competitiva, pero jamás pensé que iba a requerir una mayor potencia gráfica en mi PC para ejecutarlo, lo mejor/peor de todo es que aún estando gratis no lo puedo jugar xd, será que espero la versión crossplatform que sacarán para android.
Curiosamente, es gráficamente exigente, aunque yo lo pude correr con una 9400 GT hace tiempo, iba todo al mínimo absoluto y no llegaba a los 60 estables, pero era muy divertido y suficiente para jugar y pasarla bien sin lugar a dudas, espero puedas jugarlo pronto de una forma u otra, gracias por comentar.

La "experiencia casual tradicional" bueno que con Rocket League lo casual y tradicional no es ninguna de las dos, vamos eres un conductor de racing jugando futbolito jajaja, pero es tremendo juego y como lo amo por decir poco :), saludos y un abrazo, que bueno verte por alli.
Sí, con experiencia casual "tradicional" me refiero más a que no quería tryhardear demasiado y eran partidos "de chill" entre muchas comillas, pero es inevitable que el cambiente se caliente cada vez que llega la oportunidad de marcar un gol.
Igualmente, tiempo sin verte por ahí, no he estado tanto por acá como antes, intento remediarlo poco a poco, un abrazo de vuelta y gracias por comentar.
Estuve un tiempo fuera de hive gaming y mas aun con un pie fuera de hive lidiando con mi vida personal que era un desastre pero ya al menos esta a algun nivel equilibrado, por ahora :) esta navidad deberia de poder resolver todos esos detalles y regresar de lleno a moderar y cuidar de hive en lo que puedo <3, un abrazo y disculpa la ausencia, son cosas que pasan supongo.
