The time has come for me to replay one of the best titles ever! The Mass Effect Saga.
Although I won't be replaying the first two I do have to at-least replay the third and last one with John Shephard as commander. I've forgotten all about this gem of a game until a few months ago where I saw @kaelci mentioning some of the Mass Effect mods.
So @kaelci a big thanks for that!
Even though I have played numerous titles where I thought wow a game can't get any better than this. Well story wise there is nothing else that beats Mass Effect.
It's a literal tear dropping game.
I heard that the game has multiple endings and well back in the day when this was released I only played it through once so here's to finding another ending.
Starting the game actually gave me goosebumps because some cut scenes at the start of the game actually has the same music that was played at the end of the game where you made your final choices, and if I remember correctly they have a lot to do with the young kid shown in some of the cut scenes. That sound track was burned into my sub-consciousness.
A deep and rich story awaits us, so deep I feel that it was some part of my life missing to me now.
The kid I mentioned earlier, I don't want to say too much yet since I can't properly recall how he fits into the storyline.
Now I won't be going through every step that led us to this situation, that's why I include the videos. Then at-least it's some sort of a puzzle. Laughs.
The Reapers attacked earth on a full scale invasion, needless to say Earth was completely caught off guard even though they expected the attack. Just not as soon and sudden as it came, and like most surprise attacks things will go sour for the defending party.
As it did, Earth will not fall easily but it won't survive long under the current circumstances with no help from the Citadel.
Fortunately through all the chaos the Normandy along with most of it's crew including Shephard was able to get off world. Admiral Anderson decided to stay on planet to lead some sort of resistance group or do what he can as best he can. An idea that Shephard didn't like much, however he knows what needs to be done.
Shephard was sent to the Citadel to get help at all costs. However I'm uncertain if the Citadel will easily help Earth, if Shephard were to fail it would mean the end of Earth and all life on it.
However, after fleeing Earth our orders quickly changed, we were to head to a secret facility on Mars which was under attack from Cerberus and find out what they were looking for.
We realized that the facility must have been infiltrated from the inside because the amount of Cerberus troops were very little and overpowering such a large facility required some inside info.
See this is where things can get problematic.
There is mistrust inside Shephard's crew, mainly stemming from Ashley Williams. Who believes that Shephard might still be working with Cerberus which does not seem to be the case as he is just as confused as to why Cerberus would be attacking the Mars facility.
Doubt in times like this can prove to be very fatal.
It was of utmost importance to catch the infiltrator who was stealing the blueprints from the facility.
She was cunning and fast and knew how to get away with ease and she would have if James Vega who'm Shephard have sent away to secure the getaway ship.
As she (who is actually a cyborg) almost escaped by jumping on a drop pod when James Vega came smashing into it with another drop pod , causing a major crash back onto the facility.
Things might have went very bad if James decided not to go off planet with Shephard.
His actions changed the course of the mission dramatically.
During the collision on Mars trying to stop Edi the cyborg Ashley got hurt very badly and needed critical medical attention. The kind only the Citadel could give, so the next plot of course would indefinitely be the Citadel and nothing else.

It is!! I cry every time I play it, even already knowing the story. 😅 It's just too emotional.
The "multiple endings" are just the choices your Shephard makes at the end. 🙂 One, the other, or one you can only unlock if you have collect enough War Assets. (Or one secret one if you do something silly at the end XD) Hope that wasn't too spoilerish.

I didn't even finish the first title, maybe I made the mistake of wanting to complete all the secondary missions, what hurt me the most was losing my Krogan 😢

The decisions that you have made if you played the previous two have a lot of weight, in the history of this installment. I had to replay the previous ones to save the Geth and their creators, in this game, until I did it and it was very satisfying.
It's such an epic story, and now that they've re-released the trilogy with upgrades, it's well worth it.
One of the greatest Sci-fi stories in games. If not, the best.
