1988 eh? It sure don't feel like it came out that year but heck i don't recall when any game came out for the NES back in the day. When i was a kid a game just all the sudden appeared. i never got into reading magazines knowing they talked about it coming out soon. As for this game itself i just loved the idea of using the bionic arm to swing. that was the only thing i did in the game and never went past level 1! LOL. There should be a HD version of this game? I read about it a while ago but it may have been a concept as well. There have been many people who made a demo of a HD version of a game they wish came out and may be mistaken that.
and i submitted that comment too soon. I missed the part you mentioned the remake for the 360. That was what i was referring to as the remake. I could of swore there was a PC variant too.
There was but no one talks about it because Capcom left it in that failed "Games for Windows" brand - you can no longer connect to the servers to verify ownership so the game won't play on PC any more.

While I read the mags back then I was mostly into the PC focused offerings. Some did cover consoles but the games were already old, at least three months (if not more), on store shelves. By then most of my friends and me figured out which ones we were going to get
I was able to get to a couple levels into the game but could never figure out the best way to progress beyond level 3 or so. It was a tough game and one that required 101% focused playing.
Wow, almost like those "what was popular when you were born" type things. Lol
One way to look at it though, you were at the right age to get these games cheap at yard sales and such.
I was born in 1976 so I was just the right age to pay full price for games like this. I was lucky though, I had a few friends and we would all trade games around so no one friend had to buy everything that came out.
