How about Gamers? As always it is a pleasure to share with you in the community. Today I do not bring a post about a game or many games. But about the place where we store our games, how we do it, and what function we end up giving our computer. In a certain way, this idea stems from the organization, but also with the intention that this organization can provide us with a greater gaming experience than we are used to.

We all know that companies almost always release the title for the pc, and also have many of the good games available on our favorite home console, it is always difficult to be able to concentrate all these games in one place or one operation center, one single interface.

In general, we will always have our library distributed among the different clients such as Steam, Epica, and GOC, among others. The main characteristic of a console is the point of centralization, the console's operating system centralizes all the games in the same interface, so that was the first thing I started to investigate, to find a good linking platform between the stores that It would allow me to have all my games in a single menu, just like an Xbox or ps5.

Platform comes first

image.png

That's how it is! Among all the apps I searched for, I found a pretty good one from GOC called GOC Galaxy which allows you to have all your libraries in one place. There is another tool called Launchbox that fulfills a similar function that we will talk about below and I will explain why at first I did not use it to do everything in it.

As you can see in the image, this GOC Launcher allows us to import our accounts from other companies in the same place, we can access a menu where all our games will be in the same space despite being from different clients, and we can run any of our games without any problem.

image.png

As we can also install any title that we have from the same application. The only thing is that we will only have the information from GOC and not from the other stores, so to rescue the free games from Epic, for example, we will still have to go to the original client of the store to be able to do it.

image.png

However, once the game is claimed, we will be able to view it directly on GOC Galaxy.

What if I want to play something else?

As you know, today we have many good programs to emulate other consoles on our computer, from GBA to Xbox 360 we can emulate everything today, always depending on the capacity of our PC.

image.png

As a PC gamer, mainly I have missed many good titles that I have never been able to pass and that I would not buy the console for one or two exclusive games, let's see, for example, the Zelda of the GameCube How do I play them? the solution was emulation, so I decided to look for the best emulators and programs that would allow me to have my PC also as a super retro and not so retro console to play and enjoy all those titles that for various reasons we could not complete, never play Or even try.

image.png

Launchbox and Emulators

For this I have used this tool called Launchbox which allows us to have all our emulators in one place, however, it does not work for all emulators and runs with their custom configurations.

image.png

Launchbox is good for emulators like GBA, Nintendo 64, SNES, DS, and these kinds of old-generation retro consoles and handhelds. Most of them are all emulated with the same program called RetroArch and in this way we have all our retro games in a single command center, something that makes it quite comfortable when it comes to searching or choosing our game.

What about the other emulators?

What about psp, ps2 or gamecube? If I want to play these consoles, how do I do it? Well, the Launchbox allows you to add emulators and run them from there, making it possible to have everything in one app, you can even add your Steam accounts and have something GOC Galaxy style. So why didn't you do it all there? Well, it turns out that Launchbox is good, but not that good, sometimes it has conflicts when running emulators like ps2 or GameCube.

image.png

This can vary from the game not starting or starting without the emulator's custom settings, which makes it difficult to enjoy the emulation satisfactorily. However, I am working on it, carrying out tests and others to be able to have everything in the same launch system, thus achieving the perfect multi-console machine.

For this reason, I use the emulator in an individual way:
Dolphin: GameCube and Wii
PPSSPP: PSP
PSCX2: PS2

Conclusion:

The idea is to make our PC our Gamer command center where we have all the games we want available and a vast library that allows us to always have a wide repertoire of games to enjoy. I hope you liked this post and it also inspires you to create your own super video game console! See you in the next post.

Dolphin: GameCube and Wii
PPSSPP: PSP
PSCX2: PS2

image.png

image.png

Conclusion:

  • Procesador: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-10105F CPU @ 3.70GHz 3.70GHz
  • RAM: 32.0GB DDR4 TeamCore Gaming
  • GPU: AMD Msi Radeon Rx 570 4gb

It is quite uncomfortable to have the games distributed in different libraries, for example in Epic I have Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider, but playing them is a pain because I have to change my account in Epic and start it from its launcher, which I personally think has a lousy optimization and I don't even feel like using it haha.

Yes, the same thing happens to me, that's why I'm working on a way to have everything in the same launcher, including the emulators, but everything works as it is. Thank you very much for commenting on the post!
