The Sims Mobile - Gameplay and Review

in Hive Gaming4 years ago (edited)

So in my last article I had mentioned that I would be attempting digital detox.

Was I successful?

Partly yes.

For half of the day I managed totally without any gadgets. The other half of the day I found it really hard and gave in.

Although, this time it was not the usual Instagram, FB and other social media shiz but it was gaming.

I downloaded three games out of which I stuck to two of them from the past 2 days.
The one I'll be talking about today is The Sims Mobile.

Although I have come across and played Sims on PC around 10 years ago, I thought I'll give a go at the mobile game.

All the images below are taken from the gameplay of The Sims Mobile. I will be sharing the link to the game at the end.

Sims is basically a life simulator/RPG kinda game. You can live a virtual life through your characters in the game.

You start off by creating your character.

The game allows you to customize each and everything: the name of your character, the kind of eyes you want him to have,
the body type, shirts, dresses, shoes to the hair and beard style you'd like to sport.

You are also given options to choose the traits of your character: what he is good at. You start off with one trait and your traits unlock as you progress in the game.

Let's say we named our character Graham Bell.

The game starts with Graham being dropped off at his new rented house in the town. Graham is new to the town. The house seems very dusty and broken. His very first task is to tidy the house and fix things up.

Once everything is set, to sustain himself Graham needs to find a job. He joins a local cafe as a Barista.

You can choose what to make and whom to serve it. Accordingly the story will play.

These star icons you see are the things he can interact with. He can scrub the tables, make unique coffee and also try special tricks with customers.

Sometimes the customers love it. Sometimes he ends up annoying the hell out of them with his badly tasting experimental coffee.

You can also gossip around with your coworkers.

Eventually he ends up loving his job and making and serving different kinds of coffee to all his friends.

Work is not everything in life. So what does Graham do for fun?

He goes to parties and socializing events. You can choose the course of conversations with people he meets there.

Sometimes he ends up saying inappropriate things like in the image below and faces their wrath.

Eventually he becomes good friends with Jeanette Dawn. Jeanette works at a local restaurant as a cook.

She cooks delicious meals during parties as well.

Later she changes her job and becomes a fashion designer.

You have a list of careers to choose from for your characters. From barista to cook to scientist to photographer and lots more.

Your characters can also have their own set of hobbies.

You keep getting quests and as you complete them, new stuff gets unlocked.

If you have the money, you can also buy huge properties and live in them.

You can also unlock new buildings and locations where you can start new professions, hang around and do fun stuff!

Your characters can socialize and make friends and they get added to this contacts window.

What else can you do?

You can customize your house: add new furnitures, multimedia sets, new fridge and kitchen gizmos.

You can also expand your house by building a second floor and some more.

So much for free? How do the developers make money?

There are tons of in game purchases options where you can swipe your credit cards to further customize your characters.

Of you wanna try this game out you can download it on the app store using this link:

There are still lots of things to do in this game that I haven't explored yet.

Am I loving it?

It's a good time pass. I'd play this for 3-4 days before getting bored. I'd give it a 4 out of 10 rating though. It's a slow game and sucks up a lot of your precious time.

However, I'd rate the PC version a good 6/10 as it gives a lot more options in the game.

But when you can't do all of the socializing and stuff in real life and you have all the time in the world, you can do it here. XD

Covid 19, we have lots of options biatch.

Hope you enjoyed this post.

Cheers!
