Purpurina or also known as man's love is an invasive plant that we have in the garden of the residence. The color of the sharp leaves of this plant is deep purple, hence its name. The flowers of three petals begin to appear, it is cold season in Venezuela, this climate favors it although it is a species that resists varied temperatures for that reason it requires little care. They are continually pruned by the gardener because as I said at the beginning, it is an invasive plant that takes a lot of ground if it is allowed. In the garden, the purplish or tradescantia purpurea, as it is scientifically known, decorates with its unique and original color.
Purpurina o también conocida como amor de hombre es una planta invasiva que tenemos en el jardín de la recidencial. El color de las hojas filosas de esta planta es morado intenso, púrpura, de allí deriva su nombre. Las flores de tres pétalos comienzan a aparecer, es época de frío en Venezuela, este clima la favorece aunque es una especie que resiste variadas temperaturas por tal motivo requiere de pocos cuidados. Continuamente son podadas por el jardinero porque como lo dije al inicio, es una planta invasiva que toma mucho terreno si se le permite. Dentro del jardín, la purpurina o tradescantia purpúrea cómo científicamente es conocida, adorna con su único y original color.

La tala de árboles no es la acción más recomendada pero, a veces es necesario. Los tallos de las palmeras se han ido afectando con pequeños hongos que rodean sus anillos, actualmente se buscan opciones para abordar el problema.
The varying temperatures cause the plants to become diseased. The fungus is a common virus that attacks and destroys them. I don't know what treatment will be applied, nor did I have the opportunity to talk to the gardening specialists, I just took some pictures of the grayish fungus that covers part of the stem. As you can see, it looks like a flower that adorns the wood of the palm.

No sé qué tratamiento se aplicará, ni tuve la oportunidad de hablar con los especialistas en jardinería, solo tomé algunas fotos del hongo grisáceo que cubre parte del tallo. Como ves, parece una flor que adorna la madera de la palma.
Another plant that sees its shoots die is the Pitimini or Baby Roses. In this species the flowering process has already occurred and now the petals of the small flowers are falling. This plant does require a lot of care, every day I see the gardener giving love to the roses because they are often attacked by pests. The continuous and constant pruning is the way to maintain it. Soil treatment is also necessary for this type of plant. The ones we have in the residence are white with a faint pink color that can be seen on the inside of the petals. This plant is a favorite of the neighbors because it is so pleasing to the eye and smell.
Otra planta que ve morir sus retoños es la Pitiminí o Rosas bebé. En esta especie ya se dió el proceso de floración y ahora ya caen los pétalos de las pequeñas flores. Esta planta si requiere de muchos cuidados, todos los días veo al jardinero dando cariño a las rosas porque suelen ser atacadas por las plagas. La poda contínua y constante es la manera de mantenerla. El tratamiento para la tierra también es necesario para este tipo de plantas. Las que tenemos en la residencia es de color blanco con rosado tenue que se visualiza en la parte interna de los pétalos. Esta planta es la preferida de los vecinos por lo agradable que se muestra a la vista y al olfato.
Following the path of the plants I saw with curiosity the small buds falling on the milky leaves. Near the fruit plant there is a coconut palm tree, when the seeds fall they stick on the leaves, I don't know if it is for good or for bad, the truth of the case is that so many seeds fall that they are capable of covering each leaf. Siguiendo la ruta de las plantas ví con curiosidad los pequeños brotes que caen sobre las hojas de lechosa. Cerca de la planta frutal hay una palmera de coco, cuando las semillas caen quedan pegadas sobre las hojas no sé si para bien o para mal, lo cierto del caso es que caen tantas semillas que son capaces de tupir cada hoja. Si alguno sabe sobre este fenómeno mucho sabré agradecer.
Finally, the residence cultivates an endemic plant called Vinca of Madagascar, its name is due to the fact that this beautiful plant comes from this unique African place in the world where this type of plant qualifies as such. In Venezuela many people think it is a wild flower because it is often confused with other species. The Vinca of Madagascar blooms all year round, it is a very kind and appreciated plant by gardeners, its ornamental character beautifies the spaces in a unique way. Incredibly the leaves of this plant are preserved with an intense green color, I have rarely seen them stained or damaged in spite of their exposure to the sun.
Por último se cultiva en la residencia una planta calificada como endémica la cual lleva por nombre Vinca de Madagascar, su nombre se debe a que la bella planta proviene de este lugar africano único en el mundo donde este tipo de planta califica de ese modo. En Venezuela muchas personas piensan que es una flor silvestre ya que suele confundirse con otras especies. La Vinca de Madagascar florece todo el año, es una planta muy bondadosa y apreciada por los jardineros, su carácter ornamental embellece los espacios de manera sinigual. Increíblemente las hojas de esta planta se conservan con color verde intenso, mi rara vez las he visto manchadas o dañadas a pesar de su exposición al sol.
Hola! justo en mi último post en mi diario del jardín estaba hablando de que estoy plantando esa purpurina, queriendo más bien reproducirla como planta colgante. Pero si me han comentado que si se le deja crecer es muy invasiva. A mí me encanta su color pero la voy a mantener contenida en una maceta.

Hola @cesarj21. Sí, la purpurina es así de hecho se utiliza para adornar espacios grandes como por ejemplo algunas plazas. Primero por lo resistentes a cualquier clima y segundo porque ella misma se extiende y toma suficiente terreno si se le permite. Mantenla en maceta u pódala con frecuencia. This is indeed a very invasive plant, after harvesting our rice crops they will grow on their own. It is also commonly seen near creeks/rivers in my hometown.
