Here's another update from my indoor plant propogation hobby. I'm doing another update now because I'm going on holiday for three weeks, so I can see the progress when I come back. I have someone to look after my plants while I'm away.
I'm trying to propogate my indoor plants by taking cuttings and try to make them grow roots in water and also by splitting some plants that grown too big.
In my posts from June (https://peakd.com/hive-140635/@friendlymoose/the-start-of-summer-and-my-indoor-plants) and two weeks ago (https://peakd.com/hive-140635/@friendlymoose/summer-update-garden-journal--plant-propagation) I shared some information about this new project.
The first plant is a Calathea Makoyana I received from my kids from my birthday. It has grown quite a bit in nearly a month time. I even had to move it into a slightly bigger pot. You can see it's developing quite some new leaves. I like the pattern of the leaves and their color.
These plants (Tradescania Nanouk Pink) were together with a third one of the same size in just one container. It was on my olders daughters room. Because they needed more space I plit the roots into seperate plants.
Here is another plant I received from my kids for my birthday. It's a Nepenthes (Monkey Jars). This plant catches little flies in its cups.
It really looks amazing I think. This 'thread' looks dried out, but I read on the internet that these turn into new cups. I'll just have to wait a bit more then.
I've bought this Syngonium Albo variegata two months ago. It already has grown quite a bit since then. I have cut off one leaf that had a brown spot on it and put it in water. I don't know if it will grow roots, but we'll see about that. The original plant started a new leaf.
Here are two of my three philodendrons (one is in the bedroom). These used to be one plant all together. First I had cut off one of the branches with a lot of leaves and put it in water as an experiment. It took a couple of months, but it had grown so many roots that I planted it in soil. In my June update you can see the roots it had grown. This is now the plant on the right. The other one is half of the split plant. The other half is in the bedroom. You can see it's growing news leaves already. It's a really fast growing plant.
Here is my Monstera that I have split in three recently. It's really doing well after splitting. This one is also starting to grow a new leaf.
This is the Alocasia Bambino Pink Variety I bought a while ago. It has grown a second leaf already and I think I see a third one coming. This one will grow nice leaves with pink spots. A really special plant. I can't wait to see it grow bigger.
I keep it in a nice and humid environment for now. When it grows a bit bigger I will get him out of his prison.
This is a cutting of a Ficus I already have for a long time. I've put it in water, but it took so long to grow roots that I thought it wouldn't happen. But suddenly after a few months they started growing. And now they are growing quite fast too. It has developed quite nice roots already. I think I can move this one to soil when I get home after three weeks.
Here is a succulent plant I have put in water. This one also took a whule, but has quite some nice roots now. It's still too early to move it into soil yet, but it's a start.
My wife bought this Pickle plant as a present for someone and I took a cutting from it first. It took a while before it grew roots, but now the roots are even larger than the plant itself. I will move this one to soil as well when I get back.
I received this Money plant as a small one with just three leaves back in February and see how much it has grown since then. I think I can start making new cutlings to propogate this fast growning plant too.
Here is some propogation in action. This small plant was also on my daughters room in a cute little pot. But the plant had already propogated itself, so the pot became too small for both plants.
I took them out of the small pot and carefully seperated the roots of the plants.
Then I placed the smallest one in the original pot and the biggest one in a slightly bigger container. And now I have two of them!
I received this Dragon-tail plant also as a small cutling in February, together with the Money plant. I had helped out a lady and she gave me these rooted cutlings. This is actually where my interest in plant propagation began. I managed to grow these into nice and strong plants.
This one is also ready to be propogated itself again.
This was my update for now. I hope you liked it. Are there more plant propogaters on Hive? I'm curious what your experiences are with plant propogation.
Happy gardening!

My indoor plants have been been 'babysat' by tennants who were happy to look after them. Be interested to see what state they are in - this post gives me inspiration to get some more cuttings going.
My parent in law will visit my plant, but I wonder how they will be in three weeks.
Nice to ready my post gives you inspiration!
