I’ve come to really love chickens here on the Gubba Homestead. They are not only easy to manage and take care of compared to most other farm / homestead animals but they provide so many fresh eggs that can be used or sold.
Another huge benefit of Chickens is the bedding they have and their waste can easily be composted into a nutrient rich soil to grow crops. If you didn’t know my goal next year is to grow at least 100 pounds of food from my garden and the chickens will help in growing that abundance of food.

Chickens are my favourite barnyard animal so far. They are so tough! Walking right on ice and snow like nothing :D
