Watering my cannabis plants

in HiveGarden9 days ago

With how big these plants have grown, they are also quite thirsty. Every few days when it does not rain I go out and give each plant a few gallons of water. I have a large water tote I fill up and it nearly lasts a whole season with a few hundred gallons of water inside. I fill it up in the spring and empty it when freezing weather comes around. Its been doing great.

Solo watering his cannabis plants.

Over by where I grow my outdoor cannabis plants I do not have any wells, so I must bring over the water in totes, barrels or jugs. And using water lines going to the totes to move water to the jugs.

Using up all my long hoses right now. So I am stuck using my shorter one. But long term I will run some lines to each plant so I do not need to do this every year.

I try to do this in the morning before it gets too hot outside. Both the plants and I appreciate that.

Have to be careful of the little one. Its growing but no where as big as the other three I started early this year. I started a few before it but they did not make it. So this one seems to be taking off and I hope it flowers in a month.. lol its so tiny though its hard to say what its going to do.

Now I have cut back the plants, I can water them more easily at their base.

I go back and forth three times. As each plant needs both jugs of water at this point, a few gallons.

My foreman was hanging out with me and got some candid pictures of me working on my plants.

You can really see our red clay here in Virginia. Its common throughout The South.

Even though the water tote was an expensive purchase, the convenience it has supplied was well worth the expense. Otherwise I would be constantly having to lug water over to the area, or using my vehicles to move the water all the time.

Kind of crazy how big these plants have gotten, but I did work really hard making their holes bigger between seasons. So it seems it has paid off. Knowing this worked during the next break in the outdoor growing season starting when freezing temps start, I will go out with my machinery and make the holes even bigger. And I also plan on growing them in a single file line, as side by side they are running out of space. And I can no longer get my mower behind them they have gotten so big.. lol

So due to that I am going to redesign how I grow them next year, giving them deep and wide holes to grow in. And I will also run a water line out to them to make it easier to water them.

Ah man, if you lived closer the guy around the corner from us is giving away totes like that for free. He has like six of them in his front yard just sitting out by the road.

I see them all around where I live too. The risk of used ones is what was stored in those containers before you get them. So I decided to pay extra and buy a new one, so not to risk getting sick.

That makes sense.

Yeah it would saved me a lot of money, but my health is priceless.

Yes it is!

Damn they're so BUSHY 🤘

Indeed they are, the biggest plants I have ever had!

gosh that sounds like back breaking work, all that manual irrigation I guess no pain no gain

Hah yeah its hard work, but I think doing it more smart next year will pay off.

That sounds intriguing!

Your work always good, spending time in garden looking for new ideas.

The water supply container is very large enough for your plants for a long time, I see your marijuana plants are getting bigger and more fertile, in my area it is a dry season, the weather is very hot, my chili plants are not able to grow well because of lack of water

Indeed it is, lasts me a whole year watering these plants.

Yep you need to make sure your plants get water in some way. Wells are the best.

They've grown quite a bit and I understand why they are water hungry. Nice farm!

Hah yeah, with plants that size they are going to be quite thirsty.

Do you grow just for personal use?

Yep, I just for personal use.

Thanks for the support. May ur plants grow big and fast.. 😉

No problem, good to see you powered up.

Thanks!

Looks like you're doing this very right, @solominer.

Ah thanks, doing my best.

Just keep doing the good work.

Hope they are for making rope or paper out of. :D

Hah nah more like rolled in paper :-)

They're lush and very well cared for; great dedication, your patience and care are paying off. Greetings, my friend, may the good harvests continue!

Ah thanks, I do hope the best for them too.

Your plants look well cared for. 🌱 Staying consistent with watering and paying attention to their condition really makes a difference. Wishing you healthy growth throughout the season. 😊

Indeed consistency is key when it comes to gardening.

Thank you

Hauling water manually is quite exhausting, but seeing the plants thrive makes the effort worthwhile. Hopefully, they continue to flourish until harvest time.

It sure is but I hope next year to have a better setup for them.

Thank you

The plants looks awesome here unfortunately if you plant cannabis you'll get arrested it's absurd I'm totally in favour of cannabis legalization.

Oh thank you, yes that is what it was like where I lived previously as well.

Hope one day they legalize where you live.

Beautiful plants. You are doing great. Stay blessed and happy. Keep it up 💪. I love it

Ah thanks.. yeah they are really coming along.

Mine are already starting to flower. Normally they start right around Aug 1 at this latitude.. time to give them a nutrient booster.. or just bury some bananas in the ground close to the roots

Nice, I checked mine yesterday and looks like the hairs are getting longer.. Usually the first sign of flower.

These are pure sativas, so they may flower for three months.

I have some liquid fertilizer that I will use for them.

I love Sativa..

Ugh, a lot of weed, 😵‍💫, only for you or you plan to share 😎?

Hah sure is... I share with my close friends.
