When I started my vegan journey, I researched a lot of things. I researched what can I eat, what is available in our city and what fits in my work schedule. When I decided to go vegan, my sister and I moved already here to Talisay and I was working in Cebu City at that time.
There's a common saying that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So it is best for me to put some effort into the meal that is considered the most important. At first, I'm only doing oatmeal and use very basic ingredients. I started posting it on my Instagram then I got several likes and comments from people that really appreciated what I made. It motivated me to make more every day and post them on my feed.
I kept posting my breakfast bowls for months and I loved all the responses from everyone. There are times I get asked in the comments or people sending me messages if I sell my bowls but unfortunately that time I wasn't and it would be impossible for me to do it since I have full-time work which was really demanding.
During the planning stage of Anahaw, I was asked by my friend Sophia to create smoothie bowls for their menu and so I did. When the restaurant opened and seeing people ordering my smoothie bowls, it made me realize that there is a demand for the things I create. Until someone reached out to me and asked if they could buy my recipes. Though that project was not pushed through, I was still able to sell my recipes.
Fast forward to now, I have my very own shop where people can buy and choose any smoothie bowls and chia fruit shakes. I am proud to welcome you all to Tali Bowls. Some of you might ask "why Tali Bowls?" or "what does Tali mean?" Well, during the time when I was deciding what to name my brand, I have a few options which were Chiyo, Sai (which are the names of our furbabies), Smoothie King, and Bowlsy. I don't want to name it after our pets because it means I have to choose one name and it would be unfair to both of them. While Smoothie King was an existing brand and trademarked. Well, for Bowlsy it's just not that catchy I think and it never really hit me when I coined the name.

The name Tali was actually a shortcut to the city where I live which is Talisay. I still remember the day when @lifewithera and I came up with the name. We were sitting at Bliss Cafe just doing our usual catching up and coffee break. We have this thing of renaming some places in our area or making codes for them to sound "classy" So, for example, we call Tabunok TBK, and the barangay where we live which is Dumlog, we call it DMG. So for Talisay, we just shortened it to Tali. Also, I started my Vegan Journey here in Talisay. So to honor the place where I started my lifestyle and the first shop I'll be opening, it is best to name it after it.
I already made a short post about my shop's opening but I feel the need to create a longer one to give more details about this milestone of mine. Also, to give thanks to my friends, family, and to everyone who made this project come to life. Special shout-out to my friend Ar-ar for supporting me in building this long-time dream of mine and believing that I will make it. Thank you everyone on this platform for taking the time to leave comments on my post and upvoting my smoothie-related posts which really made me move forward in this passion.
