May 27th, 2021Greetings my fellow ASEAN Hivers. Before we get into the raffle, I'd like to give you a brief community update. We all know HIVE's price has been in the dumps for quite a while. I have been trying my best to give everyone the same upvote values as previously, and even had to stop upvoting comments, but I am still falling behind with curation. I've decided to get rid of the ASEAN Hive Star label, which was previously used to highlight engaged members who choose not to delegate to @asean.hive.
This has also freed up some HP, but still not enough, so I've created a temporary sliding scale to use for the next few days until I can catch back up to current posts. I apologize for the inconvenience to you all, and I also pre-apologize for the new voting scale that will be implemented, as it will being giving lower value upvotes due to HIVE's drop in value. Please be patient and understanding as I implement this new voting system that will be more sustainable.
We don't generally lose delegations very often, but this week we lost one from @ekavieka, who seems to have stopped posting and engaging in our community, and dedicated himself to Indonesian Hive. No hard feelings, and I wish him the best with the project. Luckily many more delegations have taken his place, most notably was @positivesteem's uptick, taking him to 950 HP, and sitting comfortably atop the SILVER VIPs. @mrnuhiver also increased his delegation to 250 HP, and rounding things out, @alvonzo upped his delegation to 60 HP.

How The VIP Delegator Raffle Works
Every raffle I tally the total HP delegated to the @asean.hive curation account, and one raffle ticket is allocated for each HP delegated by you ASEAN Hivers (excluding [me] @justinparke, @kidsisters, & @sreypov), with a minimum delegation of 50 HP to be eligible for the ASEAN Hive VIP 🥉 BRONZE Raffle.
There are four separate raffles, one for each VIP tier, and each tier's prize is a post beneficiary status equivalent to the tier's total percentage of raffle tickets allocated. This means the percentages of each tier's share of the prize is fluid, and I think it makes the raffle more fun and fairer.
This week's total effective HP is 79,113, and total delegated HP is 75,242 HP (51,538 HP minus ASEAN team member delegations & delegations under 50 HP), so I plugged the numbers into my Raffle Picker iOS app, selected "pick winners," and the results were instantly and randomly calculated.
The more you delegate, the greater your chances are to win, and this weekly raffle is just a fun way to reward supporters of Southeast Asian content on Hive.

I am a Hiver who is a loyal follower of this ASEANHiveCommunity, I really know how you manage and take full responsibility for the sustainability of this community. You have done the best for all of us, even you are also very concerned about the posts that escape the curation gap. We also know that currently the price or value of Hive has fallen too deep and of course this too has an impact on the curation value of a post.

Thank you for understanding, and don't worry about any delegations until you reach at least 500HP. You need that much to reward your commenters a bit. There are many more members that could give more that choose not to, so this community is limited to how much its members are willing to contribute.

In fact, sometimes it is necessary to make some changes in the rules, considering the current situation, it is the right decision. Although the amount of votes seemed too small to me. Yet I have accepted for something good.
Thank you for understanding, I do think I've found a more sustainable voting mathematical formula that is fair to the massive delegators and also enough to give newbies' and small delegators' posts a good boost.

Thanks for understanding. I think I've stumbled upon a more sustainable and fair (especially to Dave) voting formula. Hopefully it will allow me the HP to get back to rewarding comments with upvotes too. For now it looks like (Amount of HP delegated x 0.00025) + (tier bonus) = vote value. The silver tier bonus is 50 cents. Of course this upvote is only available to quality original content, just like the stuff you and the most of the VIPs consistently post. I am anxiously awaiting HIVE's rebound.

I love it too, but I must be honest there is no gratification in punching in the numbers into my iOS raffle app. It's digital, and therefore instant, but I still wish I could have a physical wheel to spin or a lottery ball machine. Someday I fully intend to make that happen, perhaps at 100,000 HP I'll make this post a weekly 3Speak video complete with an actual wheel spin or some physical device. Perhaps a marble race, the track building process could be a fun project for the @kidsisters.
