Serenading To Make A Living

Hi there #aseanhive community, just want to share the old man who serenades for a living, isn't it an enjoyable way to make a living? Maybe for some, but in reality it is not for the old man you can really tell by the looks of the old man, his face appears to be tired. Carrying two ukuleles seems like the old man is prepared for any instances his ukulele may happen. He serenades plaza goers it may be in group or lone individual just to make a handful of penny, and the sad part is that most of the time he gets rejected. Like what happen in the picture below the old man was about to start serenading the woman but he was rejected even before he start to play his ukulele. There was nothing he could do but to just walk on and look for another individual he can possibly make a penny.

In this photo the old man eventually serenade these family that are having a snacks and luckily he made a couple of pennies from the family.

After he serenade the family he goes on the other side and started to serenade right away the balut (fertilized duck egg) vendor, but rather receiving money, the balut vendor hand over the old man a piece of balut instead which the old gratefully accept.

The old man was holding a piece of balut on his right hand. Balut is an incubated duck egg for about half a month then steamed, and considered as one of the street food here in Philippines.

The many different things people do in the streets to survive would make a very interesting photo series.

Yes I agree to that, those who are less given attention are the ones brings much emotions in photo series.

Way to go for this man to earn an honest living like this. Far too many people in a situation like that would simply beg, but it is very good that he is using skills to earn an income.

He looks like a man with a lot of character who possesses a lot of wisdom and stories.

I agree, he uses his talent to make a living, in his age surely he has a lot of story to tell. Thanks @justinparke for dropping by..
