Hello, Hello! ASEAN Hive Community!
It's my first time writing here and I'm glad that I have something to share in this community.
Yesterday, I went to an event that is fitting to be posted here.
August is the month when the ASEAN is celebrated. This year is ASEAN's 55th Founding Anniversary and in line with the celebration, the Commission on Higher Education has prepared a series of events in honour of ASEAN. Different state colleges and universities 8 have participated in the said month-long event.
Among the activities participated by the different universities and state colleges in region 8 is the simultaneous flag raising where everyone is requested to wear ASEAN- inspired attire. There were also webinars hosted by CHED. Finally, there is an HEI Fair and ASEANWave Webxhibition Festival where different universities showcased their best in promoting themselves through the different booths. The student's talents were also showcased yesterday. Some singers sang OPM and Cambodian songs also, and there is an art tutorial by a former student, now a faculty of the university.
The university's mascot, King Fisher gave life to the celebration with his dance moves during the opening and closing parts.
Everyone had fun. We're happy that even though we were short of performers, the event still went well. The CHED staff hoped for more but unfortunately, it was all that the university can offer at that time.
Yesterday and every day, we honour partnerships and linkages with the rest of the countries in ASEAN. We're hoping that there will be more partnerships for sustainability projects and the good of ASEAN.
I was grateful I was able to attend the event. I went there as part of the tech team. Times like these made me forget my frustrations in applying for DepEd. In my current job, I'm immersed. I met new people and I have been to new places and I get to do new and different tasks every day. The journey is challenging but it's worth it.
