Good morning and Happy Sunday! Didn't know the cold weather has begun I was keeping my airconditiong unit on until dawn. Lol. Now I turned it off because temperature is down to 21°C. How I wish weather here would be this cool. I dislike summer weather so much.
Well, it's finally Christmas season where the colors red, green, and gold are everywhere and it seems like the Asean Hive Community wants a little twist before Christmas. This week's challenge, "Photography: Picture Purple", and I've collected all the purple stuff (but mostly foods) I could find in my phone's gallery.
Purple is the color of ube or purple yam. This flavor is very popular in the Philippines. I think most desserts and pastries here have their ube flavor variant. There has been a running joke here that starting to like anything ube flavored is a sign that you're getting older. Lol.
For example, this ube flavored roll cake I bought for mama's birthday last year. Its purple color may not look appetizing to those unfamiliar of the flavor but ube flavored cakes are among the most delicious cakes especially the one with macapuno or coconut sport.
Of course, the halo-halo ube ice cream. Ube ice cream is a must for halo-halo because it is what gives color to the food when you mix everything. Just imagine a brown or yellow halo-halo. Lol. It just doesn't look right. This photo was taken when I met Leann and had lunch together.
There's also this popular ice cream brand which had ube as their special flavor of the month. It tasted good at first but it ended up tasting very sweet. I don't recommend it.
Next is an ube flavored bread. If you want some variation from cinnamon rolls then you can have this. It has ube jam filling and I remember liking this bread too.
From ice cream, bread, and cake, there's purple creampuff too! I love the texture of creampuff and it's just so addicting to eat. I had this back in June when I went to Manila. There were other flavors of creampuffs too but its purple color really stands out on the display window. This is actually the last piece so I feel so lucky to have it!
And of course, I also had purple colored jelly cakes! I think purple colored jelly cakes is not among the favorites, however. I remember few customers who would note to avoid purple color or some would request to change the purple flowers on my existing cake design for their order.
I guess it also depends on the design and how it complements with the other colors.
Well, purple isn't just ube. It can also be blueberries. Wait. Is blueberry purple or blue? Anyway, the Pocky used purple for its packaging and it looks really cute!
And how about a purple packaging of a chocolate? I don't know why but there's something with chocolates with purple-colored wrapper which make it look delicious. It gives a premium look as well. Oh.. isn't purple associated with royalty?
It was also my first time to try Melona's purple yam or ube flavor ice cream when I went to Manila few months ago. I ate it as a snack while I was binge-watching Solo Leveling.
Moving on from foods, I share to you this photo of a flower I found in our backyard. This type of plant grow some thin and hard pods containing tiny seeds. I love collecting these pods when I was a kid and then throw them into the water and watch it pop.
And speaking of flowers, I love this purple bouquet wrapper because it made the sunflower's color stand out. We brought this flower to our mama's grave.
I also have a purple fast charger. Among the color variations, I chose purple because it looked really cute! This charger has been really helpful and reliable to charge my gadgets quickly.
Last but not the least! My entry for this challenge wouldn't be complete without this humongous purple mascot, Grimace! Funny how I'm having more encounters with this mascot now that I'm old. I already met Grimace thrice. Okay, I blame the parents who kept having their child's birthday at McDonalds. Lol.
Whew! I didn't know I have this much purple foods and other stuff on my gallery. Thanks to this challenge I got to compile them all! I've always associated purple color with older people. Apart from that, I dislike purple-colored lights, actually. It gives me headache. But food is an exemption! Grimace too!

Purple foods, I want all of them rn! Gosh, ube ice cream sa halo halo? I want! And wait, I have that that purple mascot at home, so it has a name 🥹, I just learned about that today haha. Omg.
