Regata Connection (part 1)
In 1998, the year I bought the Regata, Adriana still has partial functionality in her arms and can still walk slowly on level ground, but she spends most of her time in a wheelchair or a wheeled office chair.
When she gets on the Regata for the first time, she is ecstatic:
"Finally! On this car you feel safer."
"How?! Even the Uno was safe or rather the Uno was insecure
as the Regata" I tell her pretending not to understand.
"Come on Lorenzo don't joke, you can see that this car is safer".
"Just because it's heavier and bigger doesn't mean it's safer".
"Not only is it safer, but for my lopsided hips it is much more comfortable. Ah! Feel how it fits, it may not be a Mercedes but it feels like being on a sofa. You've done really well!" he exclaims.
When we drive around we feel like we are in a limousine or a Rolls Royce.
There are no big options, the engine doesn't have much power, but already with a car radio, found on a rubbish bin, the atmosphere is transformed and filled with magic. In the traffic, in the heat or in the intense cold, we feel immersed in an ancient joy, protected, safe from the world. This is what Adriana seeks, protection. Like in prehistoric times, when lions chased us and we took refuge in hiding places or above trees.
Regata Connection (parte 1)
Nel 1998, anno in cui compro la Regata, Adriana ha ancora una parziale funzionalità delle braccia e può ancora camminare lentamente in piano, ma la maggior parte del tempo la passa sulla carrozzina o su una sedia da ufficio con le rotelle.
Quando per la prima volta sale sulla Regata rimane estasiata:
“Finalmente! Su questa macchina ci si sente più sicuri”.
“Come?! Anche la Uno era sicura ovvero anche la Uno era insicura
come la Regata” le dico fingendo di non capire.
“Dai Lorenzo non scherzare, si vede che questa macchina è più sicura”.
“Solo perché è più pesante e più grande non è detto che sia più sicura”.
“Non solo è più sicura, ma per le mie anche sbilenche è molto più comoda. Ah! Senti come ci si sta, non sarà una Mercedes ma sembra di essere su un divano. Hai fatto proprio bene!” esclama.
Quando andiamo in giro in macchina ci sentiamo come su una Limousine o su una Rolls Royce.
Non ci sono grandi opzionals, il motore non ha una grande potenza ma già con un’autoradio, trovata su un cassonetto della spazzatura, l’atmosfera si trasforma e si riempie di magia. Nel traffico, nel caldo o nel freddo più intenso, ci sentiamo immersi in una gioia antica, protetti, al sicuro dal mondo. Questo ricerca Adriana, protezione. Come nella preistoria, quando i leoni c’inseguivano e ci rifugiavamo in nascondigli o sopra gli alberi.

A thousand words
There are a thousand words I still wanted to say to you, then I learnt to communicate with you through music. Through song lyrics I learnt to rewrite the world we live in, reconfirming our bond. Every day. Now I have also learnt to communicate with my consciousness, even though the mind does not yet let the internal communication between soul and spirit flow, it is only a matter of time. Already during the lockdowns I observed friends, relatives and neighbours how they felt at home during those weeks. How they were able to be themselves and do things they always wanted to do. In those weeks, a good number of them managed to detach that thread that unknowingly bound them to the 'bondage' of the mind. This collective belief that we work to simply create money, which then vanishes like snow in the sun, precisely because we are created out of debt, that is, we work to pay off debt, the original sin. Precisely in those weeks, having more time on their hands, many people were able to try their hand at activities they always wanted to do. Expressing their talents. My mother tried to teach me this already 20 years before, in a very direct way. Gabrilla Mereu says that we create illnesses for two main reasons: feeling trapped or feeling abandoned.

Mille le parole
Sono 1000 le parole che volevo ancora dirti, poi ho imparato a comunicare con te con la musica. Attraverso i testi delle canzoni ho imparato a riscrivere il mondo nel quale viviamo, riconfermando il nostro legame. Ogni giorno. Adesso ho imparato anche a comunicare con la mia coscienza, nonostante la mente non lasci ancora fluire la comunicazione interna tra anima e spirito, è solo questione di tempo. Già durante i lockdown ho osservato amici, parenti e vicini di casa come in quelle settimane si sono sentiti a casa. Come sono riusciti a essere loro stessi e a fare cose che avrebbero sempre voluto fare. In quelle settimane una buona parte di loro è riuscita a staccare quel filo che inconsapevolmente le legava alla "schiavitù" della mente. Questa collettiva convinzione che si lavori per semplicemente creare soldi, che poi svaniranno come neve al sole, proprio perchè creati a debito, cioè lavoriamo per estinguere il debito, il peccato originale. Proprio in quelle settimane avendo più tempo a disposizioni, molta gente ha potuto cimentarsi in attività che avrebbe sempre voluto fare. Esprimere il proprio talento. Mia madre cercava di insegnarmelo già 20 anni prima, in un modo molto diretto. Gabrilla Mereu dice che creiamo le malattie per due ragioni principalmente : sentirsi in trappola o sentirsi abbandonato. Ecco la mia canzone che ho composto qualche anno fa:
