This week's medicinal plant is LEMON BALM! Whether you grow it, have it dried in a jar or want to go on a journal of discovery, we welcome you!

Last week, the immunity discussion circle didn't have much discussion going on. Perhaps we were all tired of talking about immunity, given the - cough cough - thing that we are all fed up with talking about. That's okay - sometimes discussion slows to a trickle on HIVE only to start up again when we're all feeling it. We encourage you to share what you can, even if it seems small and insignificant. We also share post beneficiaries for the best discussion points or posts and upvotes as well, so please feel encouraged to join in the fun!

Want to join in and win upvotes from us? Comment below and...

  • Share your anecdotes
  • Share your fun facts
  • Share your enquiries
  • Comment on others
  • Share photographs
  • Share what you've learnt or read in a book
  • Tell us what plant you'd like to have a discussion circle about.

Thanks so much to @ for this post on making your own elderberry elixir - a great natural immunity booster. We've also added it to one of our collections where you can win beneficiaries for having your awesome content archived by us. Don't you just adore her thumbnail? She talks about the benefits of observing plant medicines via what the animals do:

I really love the story of how and why he started studing elderwort. He was hiking around Svoge (small mountain town), and he saw horned viper snake (Vipera ammodytes) and а weasel fighting. He saw how the snake bit the weasel and he thought that the snake won. But the weasel ran in the near bushes and he saw her peel the bark of an elder with her sharp teeth and eating some of it. Than she returned to the snake and didn't leave until she killed it. Since than he started observing this plant and noticed also that swallows (the little black and white birds) ate the fruits before they migrate and other animals grazing it but only in fall. He relized they were boosting their immune system before winter. Isn't it amazing what we can learn if we only observe?!?

Hi @theherbalhive, just reading the name Lemon Balm feels nice, fresh and delicious. I have to prepare a post to bring it. Anyway I tell you here, that Lemon Balm is the same Mint, which soothes the digestive tract and flavors my soups and salads. In infusion it is our friend too. But I hope to bring you soon a post about this plant so special to me and it has all been thanks to my mother who grows and pampers it.

Here my virtual hug ♥

We'd love to read about it! I just wrote mine but I also have another one to share as well! Hope you can write a post soon. - Love, @riverflows.

I'm late but I'm here. And I will be able to enjoy other readings. Here I leave mine with much love.

A virtual hug ♥

Surprised myself today and wrote a little post on Lemon Balm!!! https://peakd.com/hive-141827/@senorcoconut/lemon-balm-for-sleep

Thank you so much for the tagging! Crazy week. I do not have any experience with lemon balm. It is relatively uncommon here, if I am not mistaken. We have loads of lemon-scented herbs that got really popular though, lemon verbena, lemon thyme, lemon basil etc. I'm glad to see that there are so many entries!

Just picked some lemon balm the other day... It's drying nicely for future tea!

@trucklife-family just shared this image with me that co-incidentally had lemon balm in it! Interested in what it says about 'being used in the middle ages' - I'm just making a carmelite water which I'll share about and I want to dive more into the energetics of this plant as it's currently growing well in Spring.

I dig it. Very well designed illustration.

Yeah cool, had to share it with my wife, she's an empath. Thanks
