Today is December 1! And that means.... ->insert drumroll here<-- ... it's time for the annual Lego Advent Calendar!

Lego puts together multiple Advent calendars every year. Last year I had the "Lego City" advent. The years before those I had Lego Star Wars. This year I opted for something different, and have the Lego Harry Potter advent.
Every day is a surprise. Today's toy begins with what looks remarkably like it might turn into a minifig!
Sure enough, after puzzling together the minifig parts, it did, indeed, turn into a minifig. A Harry Potter minifig no less! Complete with wand. There's even the lightning scar on his forehead!
One of the neat things about these daily toys is that they always have a few extra pieces. Today's extra pieces include extra wands. Nice! I think I'll need to share these with my zombies.
The other pieces compromise a flyer for a Yule Ball with the Weird Sisters, and a candle atop an end table. I'm already excited to see tomorrow's!
To add to the fun, I'm going to write an ad-hoc story based on the new daily pieces. It'll be a fun challenge, since I really have no idea what will be next.
The Yule Story, As it Begins
Harry Potter, in his second year at Hogwart's, has come to relish being at Hogwart's rather than at home with the Dursley's. Not only does he enjoy learning magic, he loves that he is with people who respect and like his company: he has friends! Last year was the first time he ever remembered getting Yule gifts, and this year looks to be just as promising. He is planning to attend the annual Yule Ball! Surely nothing can go wrong. This will be the best Yule yet!
