Freckles are not very common in the Caribbean. Our deep and diffuse mixture of all the parts of the world that have landed -voluntarily or not- in our geography, have created such a varied phenotype that just by looking at us you can tell that we are Caribbean, but in a white person you will find African flavor, and vice versa. There is a saying in our island that goes if you don't have it from congo, you'd have it from carabali. That's why, when I saw the profuse freckles on Yamila's face, I couldn't help but mention to her, "those freckles are going to make you a movie star!", knowing that a colleague had told me that this new model is studying acting. She has very good poise, stature and aptitude for modeling at least, let's hope she keeps coming to our meetings because there is a lot to take advantage of this girl!

Las pecas no son muy comunes en el caribe. Nuestra mezcla profunda y difusa de todas las partes del mundo que han recalado -voluntariamente o no- en nuestra geografía, han creado un fenotipo tan variado que sólo al vernos puedes decir que somos caribeños, pero en una persona blanca encontrarás sabor africano, y viceversa. Hay un dicho en nuestra isla que dice aquí el que no tiene de congo, tiene de carabalí. Por eso, al ver las pecas profusas en el rostro de Yamila, no pude más que mencionarle a cada rato, "esas pecas te van a llevar a ser estrella de cine!", sabiendo que un colega me había dicho que esta nueva modelo está estudiando actuación. Ella tiene muy buen porte, estatura y aptitud para el modelaje al menos, esperemos que siga viniendo a nuestros encuentros porque hay mucho que aprovechar de esta muchacha!
