Monomad: The Bristly Tropical Cup Shines

I saw this fungus, known as the bristly tropical cup (Cookeina tricholoma) at the end of the previous rainy season in the moist tropical forest of North Aceh. Only the outer and cup edges of the fungus are covered in stiff hairs. It often grows solitary, but some do so in small groups. The one with the most romantic symbolism, the heart, is the most intriguing. They do deserve our love because they are a unique species of mushroom. I intended to submit this in the daily #monomad contest. Thank you.
