Monomad Challenge: Ancient chapel-tomb princes

in Black And White2 years ago (edited)

Hello everybody! When visiting historical sites, I want to see them from different angles. However, human perception changes depending on the color scale of what he sees. But what if, remove the color? In black and white, we can see details without being distracted by anything. I decided to show you a historically significant place in my country. This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.

The Paskevich family has been glorified since the end of the 18th century. They were noblemen and a very wealthy family. In honor of them, many structures have been erected on the historical land. But the tomb of the Paskevichs looks the most atmospheric, especially in black and white.

The tomb of the Paskevich family is a long corridor made of marble stones.

Each part of this corridor has cultural and historical significance. The walls of the tomb have many other Orthodox icons and inscriptions.

If the interior decoration is magnificent, then the external structures of the tomb are made in such a way as to attract the attention of tourists. At the exit you will find a staircase and signs on the walls made of stones that stand out against the background of marble.

The outer copslex consists of two small buildings. However, both of these buildings are made in the Old Russian style and look like small castles.

The entrance to the tomb of the Paskevichs is a separate building. This is an ancient building that was damaged during the World War II. For a long time the entrance was walled up and restoration work was underway. More than one year has passed since this building managed to return its original appearance and functionality.

Despite this, the main attraction is the Paskevich chapel.

This small building of 30 square meters was practically destroyed in the 19th century. But in our time, it has been restored to its original form.

Each element of the small chapel tower is decorated in ancient style. Foreign and Russian masters worked on the creation of the external decoration of the Paskevich chapel. The main entrance or the windows are highlighted with invisibility and pictures.

It was customary to decorate the domes of ancient Orthodox churches with gilding. It had several symbolizations and meanings. In the 18th century, the architect decided to do the same with the tomb. For this reason, this building looks like a small church that brings this place closer to God. Symbolically, of course.

Visits to religious and historical architectural shrines are impressive. They look interesting, but if you put the bright colors aside and look at the details in black and white, you will notice a lot of interesting details and elements. This little trip had a big impact on me. Nadessu and you managed to enjoy the beauty of ancient architecture.
