Argiope argentata: a beautiful garden spider

The other day I was in the garden collecting some dry leaves for my mother's compost. I stopped at the sansevierias (Dracaena trifasciata) [1]
and there it was: a beautiful Argiope argentata [2] on its web.

As a child, these spiders frightened and fascinated me at the same time. Now that I know they are harmless, I find them beautiful.

Here you can see the spider and the carcass of what looks like a grasshopper. In the background, the sansevierias

I know the spider is supposed to be the star, but the daisy-like flower pairs with it!
