Such photogenic creatures!
I always liked to photograph them as they are slow and I have enough time to get the camera ready. Not like the birds or butterflies. They are also pretty much everywhere as long as it is not too hot or dry.
Those here I found in the garden nosing around the plants. Seems the hydrangeas and aloe are their favourite plants. Dozens of them were walking around the stems and leaves.
The yellow aloe flowers had some nosy ones too, though most preferred the leaves and snuggle in the crevices.
But at the end of the day it seems no flower or leaf is good and the pick a naked old fence. I still didn't figure out why they do that. They are an easy target for birds and harsh sun like that and later pile of empty shells can be found on the ground.
During the summer the ground in the places where the snails were looking for something tall to climb on looks like this:
