Road bridge in Tczew

in Black And Whitelast year

Hi!

The photos taken from the archives are quite old (from 2008) and show the road bridge over the Vistula River in Tczew. The bridge itself is so interesting that I decided to share it with them. Together with my friends, we specially got off the train to a stop earlier to go through it on foot. The bridge, built in the years 1851–1857, was the longest in Europe at that time (over 800m). At the end of the 19th century, a railway bridge was built next to it. At the beginning of the 20th century, the bridge was extended to 1,030 meters. Currently, theoretically, it is 1052m, but part of the bridge was pulled down as part of the renovation.

Cześć!

Zdjęcia wyciągnięte z archiwum są dość stare (pochodzą z 2008 roku) i przedstawiają most drogowy nad Wisła w Tczewie. Sam most jest na tyle ciekawy, że postanowiłem się z nimi podzielić. Razem z kolegami specjalnie wysiedliśmy przystanek wcześniej z pociągu aby na pieszo przez niego przejść. Most wybudowany w latach 1851–1857 był najdłuższym wtedy w Europie (ponad 800m). Pod koniec XIX wieku wybudowano obok most kolejowy. Na początku XX wieku most przedłużono do 1030 metrów. Obecnie teoretycznie ma 1052m, jednak w ramach remontu część mostu została rozebrana.

Bridges are always interesting for me to photograph. The structures that are used to build each bridge and the order and placement of them next to each other, as well as the length of the bridges can contribute to the output of a different and special photo.

I also like to photograph bridges. And this one is particularly interesting due to the towers and reconstructions through which it consists of various parts.

Thanks :)
