These white mountains, 300 kilometers from my home, aren't just mountains to me; I consider them my friends. I say this because, when I had no one else and needed company, a feeling suddenly came from nowhere, urging me to go to the mountains. Following a voice, I arrived in the lap of these snow-capped mountains.
This meeting happened in 2009, and since then, I've fallen in love with them. I visit them perhaps five or ten times each year, sharing my joys and sorrows, and listening to the mountains' stories. The mountains always say, "You're too busy with your work," to which I reply, "You don't have to work to earn a living."
If the mountains could speak, they would surely say, "This is my job...to stand like this for centuries." I don't have the strength to agree to such a monumental austerity, but despite everything, the mountains have accepted it and are fulfilling it with complete honesty.
All the energy I possess is due to the mountains; I begin and end with them. And now, at this age, I don't feel like meeting anyone but the mountains. These mountains are in Himachal Pradesh, and their name is Shirgan Tung, a sacred mountain among the locals.
This is my entry for #monomad challenge.
