Hello my dear friends of #Hive... Today I am celebrating my first year in this beautiful place where I feel immensely comfortable 🎂🎉 ... So I will celebrate it by sharing what I like to do the most: "Black and White Photographs with stories" ... And my "post anniversary" is also my entry to today's #monomad challenge... Hola mis queridos amigos de #Hive... Hoy estoy cumpliendo mi primer año en este hermoso lugar en donde me siento inmensamente a gusto 🎂🎉... Entonces lo celebraré compartiendo lo que más me gusta hacer: "Fotografías en Blanco y Negro con historias"... Y mi "post aniversario" es también mi entrada al reto #monomad de hoy... "Angel and son"... Angel Cordero, one of my old high school classmates, comes on his motorcycle along with his son, they both go out to sell milk from their cows in the town's grocery stores... It's a small business, but enough income to support the farm and pay for the boy's studies at school according to Angel tells me... I did this portrait at Angel's request...📷 "Ángel e hijo"... Ángel Cordero, uno de mis antiguos compañeros de secundaria, viene en su motocicleta junto con su hijo, ambos salen a vender en los abastos del pueblo la leche de sus vacas... Es un negocio pequeño, pero lo suficiente rendidor para sostener la granja y pagar los estudios del chico en la escuela según me dice Ángel... Le hice este retrato a petición de Ángel... 📷 "Miguel in social gathering".... I stole this photo from Miguel (the one with the dark clothes in the center of the photo)... Miguel now usually raises pigs and does garden work, for years he worked at my house in-laws helping them with daily tasks and in my father-in-law's business (a small lunch shop)... The curious thing about Miguel is that he seems to appear in every corner of the town sitting talking with someone... 😂 "Miguel en tertulia".... Le he robado esta foto a miguel (el de ropa obscura en el centro de la foto)... Miguel ahora suele criar cerdos y hacer trabajos de jardinería, durante años trabajó en la casa de mis suegros ayudándolos en las tareas cotidianas y en el negocio de mi suegro (una lunchería pequeña)... Lo curioso de Miguel, es que parece aparecer en cada esquina del pueblo sentado conversando con alguien... 😂 "Brito in social gathering"... I finally managed to find out the name of the bearded gentleman in the center of this photo... His name is Angel, but everyone knows him as "Brito" (his last name)... I found that out the same day that I stole this photo of him while he was chatting with his friends in the street (this is something very common in this small town, people interrupt their daily chores and simply start "chatting")... 😂 "Brito en tertulia"... Finalmente logré averiguar el nombre del señor barbudo en el centro de esta foto... Se llama Ángel, pero todos le conocen como "Brito" (su apellido)... Eso lo averigüé el mismo día que le robé esta foto mientras charlaba con sus amigos en la calle (eso es algo muy común en este pequeño pueblo, la gente interrumpe sus quehaceres cotidianos y simplemente se pone a "tertulear")... 😂 "Cross yourself"... I don't know this nice old gentleman, but I saw him days ago in town, so I assume he must be new here... However, I loved this gesture of "crossing himself" when he passes in front of the parish church... I took this photo furtively, but if I see him again I would like to start a conversation with him and take a frontal portrait... "Persignarse" ... A este agradable señor mayor no le conozco, pero le vi hace días en el pueblo, así que asumo que debe de ser nuevo por aquí... Sin embargo me ha encantado este gesto que tiene de "persignarse" cuando pasa enfrente de la iglesia parroquial... Hice esta foto de manera furtiva, pe sí vuelvo a verle quisiera entablar conversación con él y hacerle un retrato frontal... "A monkey on the block"... Yes!... Barely eight blocks from my house there is a monkey that lives hanging out in the patios of several neighboring houses... It is a charming monkey and it behaves well, it doesn't get escapes and very polite... All the neighbors usually bring him bananas!... He was rescued years ago by a young forest firefighter during a fire, who brought him to his mother to take care of him while he recovered (he had suffered some kind of shock due to suffocation according to what the neighbors told me)... Well, the fact is that the monkey (whose name is simply "Monkey") could not be returned to its natural habitat until now and so it wanders around the houses and has become a kind of "collective mascot"... 🙉 "Un mono en la cuadra"... ¡Sí!... A apenas ocho calles de mi casa hay un mono que vive paseándose en los patios de varias casa vecinas... Es un mono encantador y se comporta bien, no se escapa y muy educado... ¡Todos los vecinos suelen llevarle bananos!... Fue rescatado años atrás por un joven bombero forestal durante un incendio, quien lo trajo a su madre para que lo cuidase mientras se recuperaba (había sufrido una especie de trauma por asfixia según me contaron los vecinos)... Bien, el caso es que el mono (cuyo nombre es simplemente "Mono") no pudo ser devuelto a su habitas natural hasta los momentos y entonces deambula por las casas y se ha convertido en una especie de "mascota colectiva"... 🙉 "Francisco the Deacon"... Francisco left 80 years ago... After a long career as a civil guard, he decided to study to become a deacon and became practically the right hand of the parish priests who have been assigned to the parish since the 90's... Usually Francisco is in charge of officiating the burials of the deceased, that's why the jokesters of the town say "Here comes the Grim Reaper" when he goes through the streets of the town with his 6'4" and his black or gray jackets... 💀 😂 "Francisco el Diácono"... Francisco dejó atrás hace tiempo lo 80 años... Después de una larga carrera como guardia civil, decidió estudiar para Diácono y se convirtió prácticamente en la mano derecha de los párrocos que han sido asignados a la parroquia desde los años 90... Usualmente Francisco se encarga de oficiar los entierros de las personas fallecidas, es por eso que los bromistas del pueblo dicen "Allá viene la Parca" cuando va por las calles del pueblo con su 1,90 Mts y sus chaquetas de color negro o gris... 💀 😂 "Elvis"... My neighbor Elvis has a rather strange type of humor and enjoys very much scaring the visitors of the village who don't know him... He simply stands next to them and watches them closely until he makes them nervous.... What a strange way to amuse himself!.... But in reality Elvis is an extremely peaceful person, a very good blacksmith, an accomplished environmentalist and he even lives with his mother and takes care of her!... But he definitely has a strange sense of humor!... 😂 "Elvis"... Mi vecino Elvis tiene un tipo de humor bastante extraño y disfruta mucho asustando a los visitantes del pueblo quienes no le conocen... Simplemente se les para al lado y los observa detenidamente hasta que los pone nerviosos... ¡Vaya una extraña manera de divertirse!... Pero en realidad Elvis es una persona extremadamente pacífica, muy buen herrero, ecologista consumado y ¡hasta vive con su madre y la cuida !... ¡Pero definitivamente él tiene un sentido del humor extraño!... 😂 "Sorolo the street sweeper"... Our good friend Sorolo is already a typical character of the village... He usually uses a palm leaf tied to a stick as a broom, because he says that the brooms sold in the store are not enough to sweep the streets... We are so used to seeing him sweeping the central square, that the last time he got sick and could not show up for work, more than 30 people went to the municipal office to ask why Sorolo was not in the square (among them, I was one).... We are all used to seeing Sorolo and talking to him on a daily basis!.... "Sorolo el barrendero"... Nuestro buen amigo Sorolo es ya un personaje típico del pueblo... Suele usar una hoja de palmera atada un palo a manera de escoba, pues dice que las escobas que venden en la tienda no para barrer las calles... Estamos tan acostumbrados a verlo barriendo la plaza central, que la ultima vez que enfermó y no pudo presentarse a trabajar, más de 30 personas fueron a la oficina municipal a preguntar porqué Sorolo no estaba en la plaza (entre ellos, yo fui uno)... ¡Todos estamos acostumbrado a ver a Sorolo y a hablar con él diariamente!...
