Die folgenden Bilder habe ich während meiner Verträge als Kellner auf dem Expeditions-Kreuzfahrtenschiff MS BREMEN aufgenommen. Und zwar als wir mit dem Schiff in der unmittelbaren Nähe des nördlichen Polarkreises, zwischen Spitzbergen und der Nord-Ost-Passage, gecruiest sind. Damals war ich von der schroffen Umgebung, und dass ich bei der ersten Durchfahrt der MS BREMEN durch die Nord-Ost-Passsge dabei sein konnte, begeistert. Überall nur Eis, Stein und Wasser. Heute stellt sich mir aber vermehrt die Frage, vermutlich weil Trockenheit und hohe Temperaturen, in Verbindung mit Dürren und grossflächigen Waldbränden auch Europa, wie
diesen Sommer 2022, erreicht haben, "WIE LANGE NOCH?". Wie lange wird der Eisbär noch über gigantische Eisschollen streifen können? Wie lange tragen die Gipfel der Berge im Norden noch ewigen Schnee? Wie lange noch können expeditionsfreudige Kreuzfahrtschiff-Touristen in unmittelbarer Nähe des Monakko-Gletschers mit Zodiacs cruisen und sich in mitten von Eis, Stein und Wasser auf dem Festland unter dem nördlichen Polarkreis mit einem Barbeque verwöhnen lassen? Nun habe ich gelesen, dass Forscher und ein Kreis reicher Männer unter den schwindenden Eisschichten fast unerschöpfbare Vorkommen von Nickel und andere, für die Produktion von unmengen von Elektrofahrzeugen essentiellen Rohstoffe, vermuten. Doch bleibt der Klimawandel für mich ein sehr dunkles Kapitel der Menscheit und unserer Gesellschafft. Darum habe ich auch die Bilder ausschliesslich in Schwarzweiss gehalten. Die Bilder habe ich mit der Nikon D5000 aufgenommen und mit Snapseed bearbeitet.
I took the following pictures during my contract as a waiter on the expedition cruise ship MS BREMEN. Today, however, the question increasingly arises in my mind, probably because drought and high temperatures, in conjunction with droughts and large-scale forest fires, have also reached Europe, as in the summer of 2022.
summer of 2022, "HOW LONGER?". How much longer will the polar bear be able to roam over gigantic ice floes? How long will the peaks of the mountains in the north continue to bear perpetual snow? How much longer will expedition-happy cruise ship tourists be able to cruise in Zodiacs in the immediate vicinity of the Monakko Glacier and enjoy a barbeque in the midst of ice, stone and water on the mainland below the Arctic Circle? Now I have read that researchers and a circle of rich men suspect that there are almost inexhaustible deposits of nickel and other raw materials essential for the production of vast quantities of electric vehicles under the dwindling ice sheets. But for me, climate change remains a very dark chapter of humanity and our society. That is why I have kept the pictures exclusively in black and white. I took the pictures with the Nikon D5000 and edited them with Snapseed.
Hice las siguientes fotos durante mi contrato como camarero en el crucero de expedición MS BREMEN. Concretamente, cuando navegamos con el barco en las inmediaciones del Círculo Polar Ártico, entre Spitsbergen y el Paso del Nordeste. En ese momento, me emocionó el entorno escarpado y que pudiera estar allí para el primer paso del MS BREMEN por el Paso del Nordeste. En todas partes sólo hay hielo, piedra y agua. Sin embargo, hoy en día, la pregunta se me plantea cada vez más, probablemente porque la sequía y las altas temperaturas, junto con las sequías y los incendios forestales a gran escala, también han llegado a Europa, como en el verano de 2022.

Ahora he leído que los investigadores y un círculo de ricachones sospechan que hay depósitos casi inagotables de níquel y otras materias primas esenciales para la producción de grandes cantidades de vehículos eléctricos bajo las menguantes capas de hielo. Pero para mí, el cambio climático sigue siendo un capítulo muy oscuro de la humanidad y de nuestra sociedad. Por eso he mantenido las fotos exclusivamente en blanco y negro. Tomé las fotos con la Nikon D5000 y las edité con Snapseed.
