This is my entry for #monomad challenge by @monochromes.
I made these photos in 2018 and they still make a lot of sense to me.
Actually, this fixation with photographing semi or fully nude female bodies next to religious images is old. And you can see a little more of that theme in this old entry.
It's not exactly a feminist protest, but I like the provocation automatically inserted into the images. Exactly how I think art has to be: provocative.
After all, female bodies have always been demonized throughout history as the cause of the worst temptations in men, always associated with sin. And if we are made in the image and likeness of God, what else can our bodies be if not sacred too?
