On this occasion I will present to you some small plants that I recently acquired, I tried to take some interesting shots to make them stand out a little more. this is a Haageocereus is a branched columnar cactus that can measure up to 70 centimeters long and 8 centimeters wide. It is cylindrical and usually they grow in a group. Its flowers are white with a purple center and are very showy.
En esta ocasión presentare a ustedes unas pequeñas plantas que adquiri recientemente, traté de hacerles unas tomas interesantes para hacerlas resaltar un poco mas. este es un Haageocereus es un cactus columnar ramificado que llega a medir hasta 70 centímetros de largo y 8 centímetros de ancho es cilíndrico y suele estar en grupo sus flores son blancas con el centro purpura y son muy vistosas.
The following shots are of a Cleistocactus winteri it is originally from Argentina according to what they told me in the nursery, it is small and thin although when it grows it reaches a measure of more than 17 centimeters long and when they flowers grow the petals are salmon color, it needs a lot of water during the summer and in winter keep it drier, it can be propagated by seeds or cuttings.
Las siguientes tomas son de un Cleistocactus winteri es originario de argentina segun me dijeron en el vivero , es pequeño y delgado aunque al crecer llega a tener una medida de mas de 17 centimetros de largo y al florecer sus flores de largos pétalos son color salmon, necesita mucha agua durante el verano y en invierno mantenerlo mas seco, se puede propagar mediante semillas o esquejes.
In these shots I decided to zoom in on its spines, as they are relatively small in size, these spines do generate some respect, which run through the entire body of the cactus and at the tip they become more generous, their beautiful dark green color suggests that the salmon color of its flowers will highlight it and fill it with more beauty.
En estas tomas decidí hacer un acercamiento a sus espinas, para tener un tamaño relativamente pequeño esas espinas si generan algo de respeto, las cuales recorren todo el cuerpo del cactus y en la punta se van observando mas generosas, su bello color verde oscuro me hace pensar e imaginar que el color salmon de sus flores resaltara y lo llenara de mas belleza.
The next to appear is a succulent called Sempervivum tectorum It is considered an ornamental plant because of its ease of cultivation and because of how striking it is, according to what they told me in the place where I bought it, they also use it to cure eczema, burns, bee stings and ear ailments; although its use is the responsibility of the person who suggests it and who uses it. It is a plant that loves the sun but tolerates shade and frost well, which is why it is very easy to propagate.
La siguiente en aparecer es unas suculenta llamada Sempervivum tectorum se le considera una planta ornamental por su facilidad de cultivo y por lo llamativa que es, según me dijeron en el lugar donde la adquiri tambien la utilizan para curar eczemas, quemaduras, picadura de abejas y dolencias de oído; aunque su uso es responsabilidad de quien lo sugiere y de quien lo utiliza. Es una planta que adora el sol pero tolera bien la sombra y heladas es por eso que es de muy fácil propagación.
And finally the next one is an Opuntia microdasys or also commonly known in Mexico as nopalillo cegador referring to its tiny thorns which can be stuck in the eyes of animals when grazing and cause blindness since the micro-spines are fine and almost imperceptible, causing serious damage to the eyeballs of cattle, but this species does not measure up to that much, that is to say that this species is dwarf since it reaches 10 centimeters high, although it does manage to spread to the sides.
Y para finalizar el siguiente es un Opuntia microdasys o tambien conocido comunmente en mexico como nopalillo cegador haciendo referencia a sus diminutas espinas las cuales se les pueden clavar a los ojos de los animales al pastar y causarles ceguera ya que las microespinas son finas y casi imperceptibles ocasionando graves daños en los globos oculares del ganado, pero esta especie no llega a medir tanto es decir que esta especie es enana ya que llega a medir 1o centímetros de alto aunque si logra esparcirse hacia los lados.
