Are You Powering Up?
I think it’s been years since my last post dedicated to a “Power Up Day,” the day of the month — the first — when Hive celebrates… well, Hive itself, by staking — that is, powering up — some HIVE, thus converting it into Hive Power.
Hive Power represents a user’s ability to influence the chain regarding both the distribution of rewards from the reward pool and the allocation of DHF funds.
It’s easy to see how greater Hive Power corresponds to greater involvement within this blockchain, and therefore not surprising that users want to celebrate each month the gesture many make to symbolically signal their intention to commit even more to Hive.
If my last post dedicated to an HPUD has long been lost to time, the same can’t be said for my last power up, which took place exactly one month ago; the one before that? Two months ago. And the one before that? Three and… yes, I rarely miss even a single power up, because even if I usually prefer to write about other things, my commitment to this chain has remained unchanged over the years, and I’ve always wanted to contribute to this initiative.
A small contribution, to be honest, because the payout of my posts is always set to 100% HP, which leads me to perform — to be precise — over twenty power ups every month, even if they happen automatically when the seven days following the publication of each post expire.
However, the value of HPUD is also measured by the number of users who take part in it; in fact, this may be its most important value, given that one of Hive’s greatest ambitions is to attract — and then retain — more users.
So even if on the first of the month I only do a small 10 HP power up, I still do it every month, precisely to help push the total number of participants a bit higher.
And why a post this month?
As I mentioned above, I don’t usually publish posts dedicated to Power Up Day, but this month I thought I’d make an exception.
The price of HIVE, as we unfortunately know, has dropped significantly, and we are in a difficult moment for the chain: with few active users, several projects shutting down, and the value of our wallets drastically reduced.
I therefore feel that especially in a moment like this it’s important to show support for Hive.
It’s now, when many have left or become inactive, that I want to signal that I’m still here, that I’m active, that I believe in Hive, that I consistently power up regardless of Hive’s price.
A small, simple message that will probably soon be lost among the posts published on the platform, but a message I still want to leave.
Today, the first day of this month, I’m doing a Power Up, as I’ve done for years and as I intend to keep doing for the years to come.

Stai Facendo Power Up?
Credo che ormai siano passati anni dal mio ultimo post dedicato ad un "Power Up Day", il giorno del mese - il primo - in cui su Hive si celebra... be', Hive stessa, mettendo in staking - ossia facendo power up - un po' di HIVE, così da convertirli in Hive Power.
L'Hive Power rappresenta la capacità di un utente di influenzare la chain sper quanto riguarda la distribuzione sia delle ricompense della reward pool, sia dei fondi del DHF.
E' facile intuire quindi come ad un maggior Hive Power corrisponda un maggior coinvolgimento all'interno di questa blockchain e non sorprendere quindi voler celebrare ogni mese il gesto che tanti utenti compiono per segnalare, simbolicamente, la loro volontà di impegnarsi ancora di più su Hive.
Se infatti il mio ultimo post dedicato ad un HPUD si perde nella notte dei tempi, lo stesso non può dirsi per il mio ultimo power up, che è avvenuto esattamente un mese fa; quello ancora precedente? 2 mesi fa. E quello ancora prima? 3 e... sì, difficilmente mi perdo anche solo un power up, perchè, anche se solitamente preferisco scrivere d'altro, il mio impegno su questa chain nel corso degli anni è rimasto immutato e ho perciò sempre voluto fornire il mio contributo a questa iniziativa.
Un contributo piccolo, per la verità, perchè il payout dei miei post è sempre impostato su 100% HP, cosa che mi porta ad effettuare - per essere precisi - oltre una ventina di power up ogni mese, anche se avvengono automaticamente allo scadere dei sette giorni dalla pubblicazione di ogni mio post.
Il valore del HPUD si misura però anche nel numero di utenti che vi prendono parte; anzi, forse proprio questo è il valore più importante, dato che una delle ambizioni maggiori di Hive sarebbe quella di attrarre - e poi trattenere - più utenti.
Quindi anche se il primo del mese faccio solo un piccolo power up di 10 HP, lo faccio comunque ogni mese, proprio per aiutare a spingere un po' più in alto il numero totale di partecipanti.
E perchè un post questo mese?
Come dicevo poco sopra, di solito non pubblico post dedicati al Power Up Day, ma questo mese ho pensato di fare un'eccezione.
Il prezzo di HIVE infatti, come purtroppo sappiamo, è calato tantissimo e ci troviamo in un momento difficile per la chain, con pochi utenti attivi, diversi progetti che hanno chiuso i battenti ed il valore dei nostri portafogli fortemente ridimensionato.
Trovo quindi che proprio in un momento come questo sia importante dimostrare il proprio supporto ad Hive.
E' adesso che molti se ne sono andati o sono diventati inattivi che voglio segnalare che io sono ancora qua, che sono attivo, che credo in Hive, che faccio costantemente power up a prescindere di quale sia il valore di Hive.
Un messaggio, piccolo, semplice, che probabilmente andrà presto perso tra i post pubblicati sulla piattaforma, ma comunque un messaggio che voglio lasciare.
Oggi, primo giorno di questo mese, faccio Power Up, come ho fatto per anni e come voglio continuare a fare anche per gli anni a venire.

fatto power up, e anche bello grosso a sto giro. Avevo un bel po' di Hive da parte che derivano da quando li avevo comprati qualche mese fa, in atessa di tramutarli in hbd, ma è andata come sappiamo
