This morning we visited my father-in-law's vineyard, a well-kept and complex expanse to manage, but only the love of someone who loves his land can understand the commitment and dedication necessary to guarantee a satisfying harvest every year. The vineyard needs constant attention: taking care of the plants, the land and the fruits really requires a lot of energy and many days of work.
There are about a couple of months to the harvest, this year the abundant rains have guaranteed the full-bodied growth of the grapes and an excellent harvest is expected. The worst enemy in recent months could be hail, which is why it was necessary to cover the vineyard with a special sheet, a kind of tightly meshed net, able to protect the plants from even the smallest grains of ice.
The walk under the vineyard today is really pleasant, a constant wind is a constant refreshment and I would like a deck chair to relax a bit. My son, on the other hand, preferred to run in search of snails, he has a thing for these small animals with colorful shells. But after an hour of running on earth, tired and dirty from a few falls, he decided he wanted to leave.
The countryside is very tiring for those who are not used to it, especially for children 😊

Stamattina abbiamo visitato il vigneto di mio suocero, una distesa curata e complessa da gestire, ma solo l'amore di qualcuno che ama la sua terra può comprendere l'impegno e la dedizione necessario per garantire ogni anno un soddisfacente raccolto. Il vigneto ha bisogno di una continua attenzione: la cura delle piante, della terra e dei frutti richiede davvero tanta energia e molte giornate di lavoro.
Mancano circa un paio di mesi alla vendemmia, quest'anno le piogge abbondanti hanno garantito la crescita corposa dell'uva e si prospetta un ottimo raccolto. Il peggior nemico in questi mesi potrebbe essere la grandine, motivo per cui è stato necessario la copertura del vigneto con un apposito telo, una specie di rete dalle maglie strette, in grado di proteggere le piante anche dai chicchi più piccoli di ghiaccio.
La passeggiata sotto il vigneto oggi è davvero gradevole, un vento costante è un refrigerio continuo e avrei voglia di una sedia a sdraio per rilassarmi un po'. Mio figlio invece ha preferito correre alla ricerca delle lumache, ha una fissa per questi piccoli animali dal guscio variopinto. Ma dopo un'ora di corsa sulla terra, stanco e sporco per alcune cadute, ha deciso di voler andare via.
La campagna è molto stancante per chi non è abituato, soprattutto per bambini 😊
