Giorno cinque.
Caro Jeff, scriverti è l’unica nota di colore nella mia vita in questo momento; gli unici colori che vedo sono il grigio di queste divise da carcerato, che non si intonano per niente alla mia carnagione ambrata, il bianco delle pareti accostato al nero della muffa che cresce su questo umido cartongesso, il ferro che avvolge tutto il blocco, dalle sbarre alle impalcature, col suo colore caratteristico. Persino le facce degli altri detenuti sono pallide e smunte, ti privano prima della libertà e poi della gioia. Rimani in bianco e nero, senza l’ironia di un classico film di Charlie Chaplin. Solo tristezza e rassegnazione. Quindi mi serve scriverti, anche se non riesci a rispondermi o le tue lettere non mi raggiungono, io ho bisogno di stendere i miei pensieri nero su bianco, perché nonostante il colore che mostrano sulla carta dentro la mia mente si accendono e riesco ancora ad immaginare noi due uniti, insieme, in una sensazione tra la felicità e l’orgasmo.
Oggi hanno scoperto come Ruben si è procurato il pennino con cui ha trafitto l’altro detenuto che, per la cronaca, se l’è cavata con qualche punto e un collo ancora funzionante; mi fa piacere per lui, meno per la testa della guardia che è saltata per colpa mia. Porgere l'altra guancia non va di moda, qua occorre l'occhio per occhio, dente per dente, anzi, considerando il fatto che l'azione mi sembra sempre più immotivata e sproporzionata, la reazione dovrebbe essere potenzialmente devastante, in modo tale che la prossima volta ci pensiamo non una ma cento volte prima di farne un'altra....
