Card: Twisted Jester

Image.png

Description, Statistics and Abilities

Twisted Jester is a card from the Alpha and Beta collections, is a Rare card and is a card of the Death element.

  • Has a low mana cost (4)
  • Has 2 attack points (Twisted Jester level 1)
  • Has 4 life and has no armor points.
  • Has average speed (3)
  • Has a skill: Snipe

Image.png

Thanks to the Snipe ability, Twisted Jester attacks monsters that have attack from a distance, magic attack or that have no attack that are not in first position.

Cost, Levels and Evaluations

The cost of Twisted Jester (level 1) is 0.34 $ ( 29 June 2020)

Image.png

In the following image you can see the most interesting levels to which you can bring Twisted Jester:

Image.png

  • Level 3: Acquires an attack point (2 -> 3) and increases its life points (4 -> 5).

  • Level 5: Increases its speed points (3 -> 4) and acquires a new ability: Dodge.

Image.png

  • Level 7: Increases its attack points (3 -> 4) .

The level that I think has the best cost / benefit ratio is the fifth level.

ATTENTION: The considerations on the levels and the relative cost are valid in general because they take into consideration the characteristics and abilities of the various levels of the Twisted Jester card but are not valid today 29 June 2020.
At this precise moment in the Splinterlands market there are very advantageous offers because some players with great value card collections have put their cards up for sale at really affordable prices.

It is cheaper to buy level 8 Twisted Jester than to buy level 7 Twisted Jester:

Image.png

It is cheaper to buy level 6 Twisted Jester than to buy level 5 Twisted Jester:

It's a really good time to upgrade your card collection.

Battle rules favorable to Twisted Jester

In the game of Splinterland the battle rules are very important.

Not paying due attention to the battle rules often equates to losing a battle.
Below are the combat rules that favor the choice and use of Twisted Jester in battle.

Back to Basics

Image.png

According to this fighting rule, all card abilities are canceled.
All cards with melee attack can only be deployed in first position and therefore generally only one will be deployed in first position.
Distance attack cards become more important and therefore Twisted Jester becomes an even more valid choice.

Unprotected

Image.png

When the battle rule is Unprotected all cards that have armor points remain with only life points.
Twisted Jester has no armor points and therefore reduces the detachment from cards that have armor points.

Little League

Image.png

According to this battle rule, deployable monsters are only those with a mana cost equal to or less than four.

Image.png

This rule restricts the number of cards you can choose from and Twisted Jester becomes an even more valid choice.

Close Range

Image.png

When the battle rule is Close Range all distance attack cards lose their biggest disadvantage: they cannot attack from the first position.
This too is therefore a battle rule favorable to Twisted Jester.

Now let's see how Twisted Jester behaves on the battlefield and let's deepen the discussion on its use.

A battle of mine with Twisted Jester

In the battle of this post I had the following conditions to respect:

Image.png

  • All distance attack cards can also attack in first position.
  • Neutral cards (cards that can be summoned by any summoner) cannot be used.

Initial Statistics

In general, I always choose a balanced battle for the Share your Battle contest.

In this battle, however, I start with a slight advantage relative to the attack points of my battle formation.

Image.png

In fact, I have 6 points of attack more than my opponent.

Image.png

My battle formation

The maximum number of cards that can be deployed in battle is 7 (1 summoner + 6 monsters).

I chose to deploy (in order of position):

Undead Rexx - Phantom Soldier - Screaming Banshee - Fallen Specter - Twisted Jester - Octopider

Jarlax The Undead (Summoner)

First position

Image.png

Undead Rexx (Level 4)

  • Has a high mana cost (9).
  • Has 5 attack points (Meele Attack)
  • Has 11 life
  • Has average speed (3)

Why did I choose Undead Rexx?
Has a good number of life points (11) and has a very strong attack (5)
It is a good card to be deployed in first position especially when neutral cards cannot be used.

Second position

Image.png

Phantom Soldier (Level 1)

A card I don't use often because it has a very high mana cost (8).
The large number of available mana allowed me to use it.
Phantom Soldier:

  • Has a high mana cost (8)
  • Has 8 life.
  • Has an average speed (3)
  • Has an ability: Flying.

Image.png

Thanks to the Flying ability, Phantom Soldier is more likely to avoid melee and ranged attacks.

Why did I choose Phantom Soldier?
He has a good number of life points (8) and if it finished in first position it could resist 1-2 rounds of play. His 8 health points are enough to provide protection for Screeming Banshee that's in the next position and has only two life points.

Third position

Image.png

Screaming Banshee (Level 4).

Has a low mana cost (3) and has a good magic attack (2)
It has an average speed (3).
It only has 2 life points.
Has a Blast ability:

Image.png

Why did I choose Screaming Banshee?
It's one of my favorite cards: it costs little in terms of mana and has a really useful ability. Of the Splinterland abilities, the Blast ability is one of the most powerful.

Fourth position

Image.png

Fallen Specter (Level 1).

Why did I choose Fallen Specter?
It costs only 2 Mana and has a very high speed which allows it to avoid many attacks.
It's a card I use often.

Fifth position

Image.png

In fifth position I deployed Twisted Jester (Level 4).

It is the protagonist of the Splinterlands weekly contest and of this post.
In the battle that I shared he scored three attacks and showed all his worth.

Sixth position

Image.png

Octopider (Gold - Level 3).

Has a high mana cost (8) and has a good ranged attack (3)
It has an average speed (3).
It only has 8 life.
Has a Demoralize ability:

Image.png

Why did I choose Octopider?
Has a very good attack and an excellent number of life points. The main reason for my choice is its ability which allows to reduce by one unit the attack strength of my opponent's melee attack cards. Unfortunately, my opponent deploys only one card with melee attack but Octopider was one of the most useful cards in this battle.

Summoner

Image.png

The summoner I chose is Jarlax The Undead - Level 4.

It has no abilities but only costs two mana points.
I chose to deploy Jarlax The Undead because it is the summoner of the death element which has the highest level among the summoners of the death element I have and is capable of summoning level 4 epic cards.
If I had deployed my level 3 Zintar Mortalis instead of Jarlax The Undead I would not have been able to use level 4 Screaming Banshee and its important Blast ability.

Final Considerations

Twisted Jester is a good card, it has a low mana cost and a fair dollar cost considering its stats.
It is a very useful card in particular in the initial leagues of Splinterlands and therefore for new players.
When I was in the Bronze or Silver league and the daily mission involved the use of the summoner of the Death element, I always deployed Twisted Jester.
If you are a new Splinterlands player this is a card you absolutely must have in your Splinterlands card collection.

With this post I participate in the weekly Splinterlands contest entitled: Share your battle.

I really like to participate in this contest and if you are registered in Splinterlands you must absolutely participate too.

Haven't you registered on Splinterlands yet?

Twisted Jester: Strategia di Battaglia e Considerazioni

Ciao amici,

Costo, Livelli e Valutazioni

Il costo di Twisted Jester è di 0.34 $ (livello 1 - 29 June 2020)

image.png

Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere i livelli più interessanti a cui puoi portare Twisted Jester:

image.png

  • Level 3: Acquisisce un punto di attacco (2 --> 3) e aumenta i suoi punti di vita (4 --> 5).

  • Level 5: Aumenta i suoi punti velocità (3 --> 4) e acquisisce una nuova abilità: Dodge.

    image.png

  • Level 7: Aumenta i suoi punti di attacco (3 --> 4).

Back to Basics

image.png

Little League

immagine.png

Undead Rexx - Phantom Soldier - Screaming Banshee - Fallen Specter - Twisted Jester - Octopider

Jarlax The Undead (Evocatore)

Prima posizione

image.png

Undead Rexx (Livello 4)

image.png

Quinta posizione

image.png

In quinta posizione ho schierato Twisted Jester ( Livello 4).

Evocatore

image.png

L'evocatore che ho scelto è Jarlax The Undead - Livello 4.
