La esencia del capítulo 16 del evangelio de san Juan es el regreso de Jesús de Nazaret al Padre, mediante su resurrección; así como, la venida del Espíritu Santo sobre el colegio apostólico. Nuestro Señor Jesucristo habla con insistencia sobre la tristeza que su muerte va causar a sus discípulos; tristeza que mas tarde se convertirá en alegría suprema por dos razones: la primera, Él va a resucitar, como de hecho lo hizo, y luego volverá al Reino de su Padre y la segunda razón, la llegada del Paráclito que el Mesías va a enviar para animar a sus apstoles.

Queda claro que nuestro Señor no nos abandona, Él no nos desampara, no nos deja solo, vive y está con nosotros; por esa razón, quién permanece en Jesucristo y lo acepta como su Señor y Salvador, es animado y guiado por la fuerza del Espíritu Santo, a su vez, recibe la luz de la verdad, la que lo hará libre e inmensamente feliz, la que lo guiará a la verdad suprema, para la Honra y Gloria de Dios. Amén

The essence of chapter 16 of the Gospel of Saint John is the return of Jesus of Nazareth to the Father, through his resurrection; as well as, the coming of the Holy Spirit on the apostolic college. Our Lord Jesus Christ speaks insistently about the sadness that his death will cause his disciples; sadness that later will become supreme joy for two reasons: the first, He is going to resurrect, as in fact he did, and then he will return to the Kingdom of his Father and the second reason, the arrival of the Paraclete that the Messiah is going to send to encourage his apostles.

It is clear that our Lord does not abandon us, He does not forsake us, He does not leave us alone, He lives and is with us; for this reason, who remains in Jesus Christ and accepts him as his Lord and Savior, is encouraged and guided by the power of the Holy Spirit, in turn, receives the light of truth, which will set him free and immensely happy, the one that will guide him to the supreme truth, for the Honor and Glory of God. Amen

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: “Les aseguro que ustedes llorarán y se entristecerán, mientras el mundo se alegrará. Ustedes estarán tristes, pero su tristeza se transformará en alegría.

Cuando una mujer va a dar a luz, se angustia, porque le ha llegado la hora; pero una vez que ha dado a luz, ya no se acuerda de su angustia, por la alegría de haber traído un hombre al mundo. Así también ahora ustedes están tristes, pero yo los volveré a ver, se alegrará su corazón y nadie podrá quitarles su alegría. Aquel día no me preguntarán nada’’.

At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: “I assure you that you will cry and be sad, while the world will rejoice. You will be sad, but your sadness will be transformed into joy.

When a woman is going to give birth, she is anguished, because her time has come; but once she has given birth, she no longer remembers her anguish, for the joy of having brought a man into the world. So now you are sad, but I will see you again, your heart will rejoice and no one will be able to take away your joy. That day they will not ask me anything.
