En el Evangelio de hoy San Juan muestra a un Jesús contundente, directo:
"Yo les aseguro que ustedes no me andan buscando por haber visto señales milagrosas, sino por haber comido de aquellos panes hasta saciarse." Jesús les reprocha el hecho que lo buscan solo por un interés material, el pan, del cual comieron hasta mas no poder cuando se obró el milagro de la multiplicación de los panes y los peces. Jesús conociendo sus corazones, sus mentes y hasta sus estómagos los increpa y a la vez les da una lección:
"No trabajen por ese alimento que se acaba, sino por el alimento que dura para la vida eterna." Al final del Evangelio Jesús deja el mensaje central de su predicación, revelación de su esencia divina y su razón de ser en la tierra:
“Yo soy el pan de la vida. El que viene a mí no tendrá hambre y el que cree en mí nunca tendrá sed”. Aquí se puede ver claramente que "no solo de pan vive el hombre" ya que existe una razón espiritual superior que nos debe mover como seres humanos, la fe en Dios y en su hijo Jesucristo. No está mal procurarse los alimentos, Jesús lo sabe, por eso no condena el hecho vital de querer alimentarse, lo que reprocha es el hecho que muchos lo buscaban solo para satisfacer una necesidad corporal y no del alma. En la actualidad muchos se acercan a Jesús para pedirle "el pan nuestro de cada día" y muy pocos para que les aumente la fe. Que la lectura del Evangelio de hoy nos lleve a una reflexión profunda sobre el alimento espiritual que verdaderamente necesitamos para nutrir nuestra existencia y así fortalecer nuestras defensas contra el mal y ese alimento es la palabra de Dios, la Buena Nueva, Jesús de Nazaret.

In today's Gospel, Saint John shows a forceful, direct Jesus:
"I assure you that you are not looking for me because you have seen miraculous signs, but because you have eaten those loaves until you are satisfied." Jesus them reproaches the fact that they seek it only for a material interest, the bread, of which they ate until they could not when the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes took place. Jesus knowing their hearts, their minds and even their stomachs rebukes them and at the same time gives them a lesson:
"Do not work for that food that runs out, but for the food that lasts for eternal life." Al end of the Gospel Jesus leaves the central message of his preaching, revelation of his divine essence and his reason for being on earth:
“I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will not be hungry and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” Here it can be clearly seen that" man does not live by bread alone "since there is a higher spiritual reason that should move us as beings humans, faith in God and in his son Jesus Christ. It is not wrong to procure food, Jesus knows, that is why he does not condemn the vital fact of wanting to eat, what he reproaches is the fact that many looked for it only to satisfy a bodily need and not the soul. Today many approach Jesus to ask for "our daily bread" and very few to increase their faith. May today's Gospel reading lead us to a deep reflection on the spiritual food that we truly need to nourish our existence and thus strengthen our defenses against evil and that food is the word of God, the Good News, Jesus of Nazareth.

Evangelio según San Juan 6, 24-35
En aquel tiempo, cuando la gente vio que en aquella parte del lago no estaban Jesús ni sus discípulos, se embarcaron y fueron a Cafarnaúm para buscar a Jesús.
Al encontrarlo en la otra orilla del lago, le preguntaron: “Maestro, ¿cuándo llegaste acá?” Jesús les contestó: “Yo les aseguro que ustedes no me andan buscando por haber visto señales milagrosas, sino por haber comido de aquellos panes hasta saciarse. No trabajen por ese alimento que se acaba, sino por el alimento que dura para la vida eterna y que les dará el Hijo del hombre; porque a éste, el Padre Dios lo ha marcado con su sello”.
Ellos le dijeron: “¿Qué necesitamos para llevar a cabo las obras de Dios?” Respondió Jesús: “La obra de Dios consiste en que crean en aquel a quien él ha enviado”. Entonces la gente le preguntó a Jesús: “¿Qué signo vas a realizar tú, para que la veamos y podamos creerte? ¿Cuáles son tus obras? Nuestros padres comieron el maná en el desierto, como está escrito: Les dio a comer pan del cielo”.
Jesús les respondió: “Yo les aseguro: No fue Moisés quien les dio pan del cielo; es mi Padre quien les da el verdadero pan del cielo. Porque el pan de Dios es aquel que baja del cielo y da la vida al mundo”.
Entonces le dijeron: “Señor, danos siempre de ese pan”. Jesús les contestó: “Yo soy el pan de la vida. El que viene a mí no tendrá hambre y el que cree en mí nunca tendrá sed”.

Gospel according to John 6: 24-35
At that time, when the people saw that Jesus and his disciples were not in that part of the lake, they embarked and went to Capernaum to look for Jesus.
When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him: "Master, when did you get here?" Jesus answered them: “I assure you that you are not looking for me because you have seen miraculous signs, but because you have eaten those loaves until you are satisfied. Do not work for that food that runs out, but for the food that lasts for eternal life and that the Son of man will give you; because the Father God has marked him with his seal ”.
They said to him, "What do we need to carry out the works of God?" Jesus replied: "It is God's work for you to believe in the one whom he has sent." Then the people asked Jesus: “What sign are you going to make, so that we can see it and believe you? What are your works? Our fathers ate manna in the desert, as it is written: He gave them bread from heaven to eat ”.
Jesus answered them: “I assure you: It was not Moses who gave you bread from heaven; it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. Because the bread of God is the one that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world ”.
Then they said to him: "Lord, always give us that bread." Jesus answered them: “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will not be hungry and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty ”.
