WHERE IS IT WEDNESDAY - PhotoGames WhereIsIt Wednesday S3 Wk4

in PhotoGames3 years ago

Alright folks, you know the drill, Where is it?

where is it wednesday - week 4.jpg

I took this photo on a trip to the Belgium countryside, no wait, maybe it was that time I flew in a small plane over Red Deer in Alberta, Canada. I've been trying to convince my wife to move here ever since we visited. Any who, I want you to guess where I took this photo, and as always the more precise the better.

If you made it this far, I've never traveled outside the US.

Sort:

Alrighty folks, the deadline has passed so here's the winners:
1st place: @fotostef
Honorable Mention: @bil.prag

The location was Somer, Montana but Kalispell would've worked too because technically I was standing in Somer and the photo is of Kalispell.

@fotostef guessed Butte, Montana where I have flown in a small plane to take aerial photos, but this photo was taken from a cabin at the top of a nearby mountain with a long lens.

@bil.prag guessed Teton River, Idaho, which honestly I didn't know even existed, but it is the second closest guess.

THANKS FOR PLAYING EVERYONE!

I was first looking at Montana because i don't remember you photographing fields ever :D and i seen no "circle" fields. Then i think i got recommended Idaho and there was a squiggly river and some circle fields :)

Wow Thanks! It was a lucky guess, I never thought it would be the closest one :)

We are happily supporting C/Photogames by presently giving large votes on posts by their PhotoStars. Keep up the good work.

How difficult it is for me :)
Maybe somewhere near the Kansas River in Kansas, USA?

Oklahoma, USA, may be somwhere near Salt Fork Arkansas River. Just at random)

is it Missouri or Mississippi or even Ohio River. Well cuz of many curves I will guess this is South Dakota

Considering @r00sj3 has not answered yet this seems to be hard for everyone, not just me 😄

And as I have absolutely no clue I'm going to guess what you said: "Red Deer in Alberta, Canada" 😝

Somewhere at Flanders ...

after some time of searching i don't even know why i will guess this :)
teton river, idaho

One thing I'm pretty sure is it's not Belgium... there's no river or pivot irrigation like this.
Wiiild guess: somewhere in Midwest USA, let's say Iowa or Nebraska or the border.😁
BTW, did you go to Belgium with Jarvie? 🤔😉 He posted a cow from Belgium last week.

I've been to several places with @jarvie, Belgium may or may not be one of them.

Thanks for your hint Mr. May-or-Maynot! It may or may not be useful.

Gotta be as vague as possible cause people be picking up on clues.

no, I didn't go to Belgium with Jarvie. 😀

I have no idea, so I'll pick a random place that I know that you have been to :)
Somewhere near Butte, Montana.

Yay! 🤗

From "the drill" I thought South Dakota, maybe you have been to the Badlands and drove up to the capital of Pierre and you got a pictures of the Missouri River from around there.

I've been fishing on the Missouri, so very plausible...

Based on the red American barn and the pivot irrigation, it is likely in the US. Now what?
Based on the logo, it's an older photo. This was taken before you moved to your current house. Does that mean you are tricking us and this photo is just taken near Ogden?
On the other hand... Ogden area seems a little too crowded to get this shot. So I continued searching and found that you once flew a small plane in Butte, Montana. And since I can't find the real location I'll have to put in a guess.....

My guess would be: Idaho Falls... right in between Butte and your home... Close to Snake River.

Now that the deadline has come...

I'VE DONE IT!! I'VE STUMPED THE DETECTIVE

untitled.gif

1- It was an older photo, haven't used that logo since 2015.
2- Ogden Valley is very much spacious and has farmland, and also some small rivers that run through it, but it's not there.
3- I did fly in a small plane in Butte, but this isn't from a plane.
4- Idaho Falls has the Snake but I haven't taken a lot of photos around Idaho Falls, it's really pretty flat and boring there, so it's not there either.

LOL... I have looked at that area where you took the photo a ton of times. But it just seemed to messy to be able to make this photo... Nice one!!

at least now I know where the red barn is :D

Coming in at the last minute, haha. That's a solid guess, I've been to Idaho Falls a lot.

For anyone interested, here's where I took the photo from.
