Hello and welcome to the "Cycling around Israel". I enjoy exploring my country by photowalking and photocycling¹
Today I went for a cycling trip to explore the town of Ramat HaSharon. If you want to know more about the town visit Wikipedia. My focus was to discover parks and green paths.
On my way, while cycling on a bicycle path in a small garden, I came upon a chilling Holocaust Memorial. If you want to know more about The Holocaust visit Wikipedia.
The Memorial consists of a big iron triangle with a writing that says: Your life is revenge for our death, and a bronze boy with a girl holding hands. They have similar facial features thus it looks like they are siblings.
The girl is bare feet and we see a Yellow badge on her back. She carries a bindle in her hand.
The boy is wearing shoes that don't fit. By the looks of it, the shoes were given to him by the girl.
They appear so life like that I got chills while examining the Memorial. A great way to honour and remember our history.
