Desde el 28 de noviembre hasta el 7 de diciembre se está celebrando en La Habana la semana del cultura británica en Cuba 🇨🇺.
Para mí esta ha sido una de las ediciones más importantes, pues ha estado dedicada al medioambiente: tema que transversaliza toda nuestra cotidianidad y aunque lo echemos de lado, siempre estará presente porque el cambio climático nos afecta a todos y todas, no importa clase, etnia o religión.
En Cuba hay proyectos muy comprometidos con esta causa, pero nos queda tanto, pero tanto por hacer; sobre todo porque no hay cultura de reciclaje ♻️. La reutilización, está presente, pero muchas veces vista como sinónimo de pobreza y no hay leyes actualizadas que respalden estas causas.
En este espacio tuvimos la oportunidad de contar con dos paneles.
Se debatió sobre experiencias de proyectos medioambientales en Cuba y UK, así como la importancia de saber cómo comunicar a las audiencias, captar la atención y llamar a la acción sobre estos temas tan importantes, ya que sabemos que a veces no resulta fácil decirle a una persona: Recicla, reusa; cuando no tiene necesidades básicas resueltas o sencillamente cuando hay un bombardeo de consumismo, de usar y soltar porque es lo fácil.
Son muchos los retos , oportunidades y desafíos pero siempre hay mucho que aportar a la causa.

From November 28th to December 7th, British Culture Week in Cuba is being celebrated in Havana 🇨🇺
For me, this has been one of the most important editions, as it has been dedicated to the environment: a theme that permeates all aspects of our daily lives, and even if we try to ignore it, it will always be present because climate change affects us all, regardless of class, ethnicity, or religion.
In Cuba, there are projects deeply committed to this cause, but we still have so much to do; especially because there is no recycling culture ♻️. Reuse exists, but it is often seen as synonymous with poverty, and there are no updated laws to support these initiatives.
In this space, we had the opportunity to host two panels. We discussed experiences with environmental projects in Cuba and the UK, as well as the importance of knowing how to communicate effectively with audiences, capture their attention, and inspire action on these crucial issues. We know that sometimes it's not easy to tell someone to recycle or reuse when their basic needs aren't met, or simply when they're bombarded with consumerism and the "use and discard" mentality that's the easy way out.
There are many challenges, opportunities, and obstacles, but there's always much we can contribute to the cause.
