It was a beautiful Saturday. I woke up with heart of thanksgiving because my youngest son was finally well from his small bowel obstruction. He was happy too that finally he had no more pain at intestines and able to drink and to eat and to walk and to run.
Christmas tree decorations at church
The most wonderful thing on that day was we were able to go to church to set up the Christmas tree and to decorate it. It was the boys' first time setting up and decorating a Christmas tree. They were so excited about it. We had never set up a tree at home because the house isn't big enough for a nice space for the Christmas tree.
We reached church around 11:30am and straight away looked through all the decorative items. Throughout the years, we had bought different colour theme of Christmas decorative items. We decided this year to use red and gold deco. It took us some time to build up the tree due to some minor defect at the trunk. Finally, when we successfully set up the tree, solid and firm, the boys started to hang the decorations. We found the ribbons and acorns and red balls really complimented one another, especially the acorns.
After the decoration, we took some time to untangle the lightings and then to put it around the tree. Later on, we found out another set of lighting and we decided to use it on the base since we did not have all those 'fake' present boxes. Covering the lights with organze cloth and the whole thing looked simple, classy and nice.
Lunch at Foodle
Since Jansen just recovered and able to eat, we also wanted to celebrate his recovery. It had been more than week that Jansen and I stucked at home due to him not well and needing tubefeeding. So, let's celebrate with a feast at a restaurant called Foodle, located in a mall called Wangsa Walk.
Jansen, the youngest son ordered a mac 'n cheese, he truly enjoyed the whole plate by himself after not able to eat for 9 days. We were so grateful and hearts filled with thanksgiving to see him eat and drink via mouth. The Mac' n Cheese here was so delicious. Creamy enough yet not too overly heavy for the palate. Jayden, our eldest son ordered for himself a plate of rice with salted egg fried chicken with a fried egg. It was very yummy too till he kept exclaimed, "Oh my, oh my, so delicious." Husband and I ordered soft boiled eggs because we had heavy breakfast.
After eating, we stayed there for awhile to play Pokémon Go on our phones. A good time together chitchatting and catching up with one another after a whole week of haywire schedule at home due to Jansen not well. Now that we all could sit together for talking and laughing, my heart was filled with gratitude.
Time indeed flies fast. This year seemed to pass so fast and in a blink of an eye, we are at December. There were many challenges this year, and I really want to thank God that all of us are well and able to sail through all the ups and downs as a family. Hope to end this year with everyone else healthy and strong and start a new year healthier and stronger. Thank you for reading my post and I wish you well too.
